Sorry if this topic was discussed somewhere else, I couldn't find it...

I have a 2016 double cab/short bed TRD off road with JBL/Navigation audio/infotainment system, truck purchased last March.

I live in Reno, Nevada and it doesn't rain here much. But when it does, the center dash infotainment system will all of a sudden black out and turn off while driving, it will restart itself turn back on, and start playing music - then randomly black out again and repeat this process.

This happened last May during a storm and took it back to the local dealership and returned it to me with the comment that they were unable to replicate issue.

After the issue last May, Reno didn't receive any precipitation, but now that it is fall, and we had our first storm again, it happens over the weekend. This episode was much more severe, repeatably turning off and on during a 15-20 minute drive. It blacked out then rebooted about 7 to 10 times during one trip.

From these limited experiences I sense this issues has to be related to either water penetrating something it isn't suppose to or shorting something out due to increased humidity.

During the May visit to the dealership, the service person stated they had some Rav4 and Tundra owners with similar issues..? Making an appointment this time around, the service writer had no comment on this issue.

Has anyone had similar issues? Or have recommendations of what to tell service writers/auto shop folks?

Do you have any aftermarket equipment installed? HIDs, LEDs, etc?
