so i have searched high and low and cant seem to find what i am looking for.

what is the stock backspacing on the 16" 2016+ TRD offroad rim?

I know it is a 16x7" but is the backspacing 4.5" like previous tacoma 16" trd rims?

    thanks for the help.

and i know that this has been discussed before but i just cant seem to find any solid info confirming this

I'm pretty sure the stock offroad wheels are 16x7 with 3.5 backspacing with a +25mm offset!

Agree with the wheel width and offset. Based on my research I've found it to be +25mm. That means the backspace, however is 4.98".

A positive wheel offset brings the mounting surface closer to the truck not further out.

I think you have it backwards. Most aftermarket wheels for our trucks have negative offset, so less backspacing aka the mounting surface has been moved towards the inside of the truck.

A positive offset is what Toyota runs on 99% of their OEM wheels. The mounting surface is closer to outside of the truck thus a higher backspacing.

Ya whoops, a positive offset brings the wheel closer to the truck and a negative brings it further out..... That's what I meant to say!

    It's a 16x7 with +25mm offset.
    So it's 5" backspace.
    7" rim width=8" wheel width
    8"/2=4"
    4"+25mm=5" backspace
