Question: how do campfires work after hours? Do they happen, where does the wood come from? Asking cuz if that's a nightly thing I'd like to find a way to pitch in

No cutting down trees around camp...all wood should be brought in...there's stores in town to grab wood if you do not have a source before getting there

but yes, there are camp fires that go all night..there are fire pits spread around the camping area that should be used...

we'll have a main fire pit going as well Friday and Saturday night...during that time, i'm sure there will be side fires going

just remember...ALL FIRES MUST BE COMPLETELY OUT BEFORE YOU LEAVE THEM UNATTENDED!!!!

they are banning a lot of pallet burning around san juan and grand counties...

Pallets are about the same size an Rtt, probably strap right on, JK. Bad economy to haul a pallet from CA when u can buy a small bundle of wood and donate it to someone's stash. I have a ton of cedar firewood and will bring some extra again.
Generally at each camp some people bring or buy firewood. Last year a guy worked at a mill and brought a whole bunch of scrap trim wood. Built a big fire all night for about 15-20 people having fun. The wood I brought I burned, let my camp mates burn and even had some left over at the end. You'll find yourself wondering around too as it's somewhat fun to see the different shenanigans going on.

What does anyone think of this? I know several firewood guys here locally and I'm 2.5 hours from BFE. I could feesibly get a few cords delivered if we could come up with a price that worked and people contributed. Hiw many cords do you guys that were there last year think wood satisfy the group?

Will you PM @NYCO and I a price please? We can see if it might be something we can provide.

I'm down to pitch in for firewood on site. Any weight I can keep off my rig will help.

If you need, I'll be heading out there the weekend before, with a good bit of space in my bed (I'll have the RTT no more Softtopper). If you can coordinate with Olaf, I can take a load, and drop it off (even have a tarp or two I can cover it with in case of rain/help keep it out of sight)
