    all tore up already
in my experience, bed liner will always crack eventually. when it does it will trap water sand and salt in the cracks which will rot the frame quicker. quality oem style rust prevent paints work great like por-15 or light films like fluid film. try to stay away from thick coats of anything that can crack and hide issues

But the oem coating from toyota clearly sucks and I've never had a vehicle I had to spray the frame to maintain it. Toyota should be ashamed of this

Boy do I have news for you! Anything metal WILL rust. That is all there is to it. There probably isn't a vehicle out there that doesn't have at least a spot of rust. And WHO ON EARTH would get under a vehicle and look for rust and deny a sale because of it????? I have never looked under my truck and don't plan to. And your just mad you don't have a 3rd gen! So why don't you just stop talking crap when you don't even have one! Go back to your 2nd gen section of the forum if your just going to be a downer!

It's all fun and games until the frame starts disintegrating like paper affecting the structural integrity of the vehicle and your odometer is only reading 40,000 miles.

Dude, cool down - what is your problem?

Please tell me you were drunk when you wrote this.

So I'll ask, why, you don't want to get dirt on your hands or something? Are you sure buying a truck was the right choice?

Man oh man....the old lady say no last night?

Sorry to see that on your truck. :( Unfortunately, I don't think you'll be the last one to report this.

No, the old lady didn't say no last night because I'm only 16. Sorry for sounding hateful, it just gets me frustrated because I get on here and all I see is people downing the new Tacomas when they are bad a**

I believe that the 4-runners are just as awesome as the Tacomas! If I wouldn't have loved the new Tacomas so much I would have gotten a 4-runner. If you do take that route, get the TRD Pro

The grass is always greener, my friend.

I actually own a 5th gen 4Runner and I'm about to sell it to get a Tacoma. The main reason being I really miss driving a manual transmission and I miss having a truck. Plus, my commute is about to double and need something with better than 19.5MPG on the highway. The 4runner is a good vehicle, not great, IMO. While it's built like a damn tank, it's really boring to drive. The engine is underpowered and inefficient (the price of reliability IMO) and I felt my tire choices were limited by the 4Runner's brake calipers, which only allows 17" or larger wheels. It's still a great vehicle.

That being said, I'm really not sold that the 3rd Gen taco is a POS yet but I'm still going to wait for the 2017s.
