2016 tacoma audio upgrade question

Hello I'm a loyal tacoma owner since 4 trucks ago. This my 1st ever post. I've bought a 2016 tacoma double cab WITHOUT premium audio. I'm having Best buy install a 8" kicker hideaway sub and a 600 watt kicker amp this week I've already purchased everything to do this job cost was 750.00 including labor and all hardware it was a little more than I wanted to spend but could not find an all in one place for cheaper to do it. My question is what kind of difference will I notice? Im NOT swapping out factory door speakers, is that an issue? just amp and sub. I Listen mostly to 90s Rock, old school rap and occasional bluegrass music.

 

Stock speakers are not designed for the power the amp will produce. Install after market speakers in the doors. Until then, keep the volume low.

 

X2.... not going to be doing justice for the product or the money your spending. Need to replace the speakers at some point sooner than later. If your a ping them then you probably will be whether you want to or not.

 

im installing my amp and sub from taco tunes do i have to disconnect the negative terminal?

i got everything speakers, amps subwoofer twetter BUT the twetter mounts is not in the package

 

I would swap out the speakers to if you can. even if you do just the sub in the long run with the volume turned up u will end up blowing up the speakers and need to swap them out.

Probably more holes, scratches, stains and loose panels. Best Buy just might be the worst 'install shop' on the planet. Sound-wise, expect modest gains on the low end if everything goes well.

 

I agree with rob feature. If your gonna let them do it just make sure they've got a good return policy. I say that because I bought the kicker hideaway from crutchfield recently and wasn't impressed at all so I returned it. Went with a 10" sub instead and it's way better and I only lost the storage behind the rear drivers side seat. It costs a little more but definitely worth it compared to a powered sub.

btw what did you order?

 

package 2 audio but they upgraded the front speakers to image dynamics

 

they ask me to send them the pictures of what i get from the box. so i sent them the pictures last monday until now i dont get any reply coming from them.very disappointing.

 

ill get a new set sent out today, what is your order number so I can get your address?
