Ordered a kit to replace several factory bulbs with LEDs. Map, vanity mirror, dome and license plate. From Fyre Flys LED store on Amazon. There were some instructions of course they are inaccurate.

Starting with map lights, says pry lens off with a nice tool that comes with the kit. Remove the bulb!! yeah how ?? Nothing about remove the bulb. You may think just pull the bulb out as the LED have a form that plugs in.
WRONG! You cannot pull this bulb out as you cannot get any small fingers around the bulb or needle nose pliers with grip surface short of breaking the bulb.

You need to remove the above console by wedging your fingers in the sides and gently pulling down and rocking. There are four christmas tree interior fasteners. Comes out easy.
The bulbs are in a 1/4 turn twist holder which you would never be able to pull out.

Pushed he lens back into place, then removed each bulb holder and inserted LED. Nice! What a big difference.

Interior light was a little tricky as the bulb is small and once again no room for fingers to guide the LED into the small tab holders. Used needle nose and set into place, pushed with finger to seat completely.

Vanity lights were easy, but used a small flat blade screw drivers to get an edge up on the plastic lens. Each bulb is like a glass fuses, pry from the bottom lift out. Insert new LED. Wow big difference looks nice.

Lastly the license plate. Instructions say easy reach under bumper and twist out. NO! most trucks have towing packing and you can't get your hand in there. Looked closely and I figured I can get a nice flat blade into the light lens seam around the holder. Worked each side not top or bottom. Got one side out worked the blade around edge. It has two ears that you can squeeze if you can get your hand under the bumper to release. Replaced bulb and checked before reseating in case polarity is off and it was with one LED. 50/50 shot you get it correct the first time.
Pushed back into place. Whala! Adds light for the back up camera too.

There you have it 30 mins and nice LED lights lacking practical instructions but what are you going to do. If the LED installed without a hitch I would have nothing to post here..ha ha !

Looks great over the old school dim bulbs.

MESO Custom is the best way to go for interior lights.

Precision LED has a video about this that applies no matter whose bulbs are used. https://youtu.be/i-KsE1rIpg8
I used Precision LED interior for mine, and got the 8K bulbs (interior only) - they are not so harsh at night as the 6K. I’m completely happy with them!

For what the OP wrote about the license plate lights. This video recommends taking the whole lens out, like written above. I went in from underneath to get the bulbs by twisting out the receptacle, probably the way it was intended. I was worried about damaging the lens and bracket. It was a tight fit for my hands, but it worked. Hands much bigger than mine may not fit (mine are likely average).

I’ll be changing to an led setup in my truck soon. Don’t want blinding white. Prefer a warmer color. I personally don’t care for the look of the Meso interior lights. Much rather have a factory look to my interior.

I felt the same way - that’s why I went with the Precision LED 8K. Theirs only replaces the bulbs, but you put the stock lenses back on. As far as warmer color, 8Ks are bluer, not really warmer (I assume you mean something less than 6K, more yellow), and 6Ks are their only other option. I feel the bluer weren’t as harsh, and I like them.

I wanted bright lights and didn't care about any ambiance.

It wasn’t so much about ambiance for me as it is about not wanting to blind my vision while driving at night if turning on maps, vanities, or the dome. I like the brightness, too, but I think the bluer light is a little easier to recover from. Either one is hugely brighter than stock halogen, tho, and I can see why people may not like the bluer light of the 8K. Whatever brand LED you choose is a massive improvement over stock! Best upgrade I think anyone can do.
