What post of yours on this thread helps OP with his question?

You're also using the term "ignore" quite loosely. Your only posts here were to engage Smitty in a losing cause, hence my initial comments.

I also have his thud. It's usually when I coming to a stop. Don't know if it's the transmission not downshifting correctly.

I notice it more when it's cold also

Less when warmed up but have noticed a thud every so often while coming to a stop.

The truck feels like it's jerking or lunging forward

Auto trans? When cold sometimes they'll clunk down into first at a stop and it'll lurch the vehicle a little - pretty universal, not just Toyota.

Dude auto transmissions have been lurching around on down shifts since the Powerglide, new car or not.

It's a truck, not the Starship Enterprise. Buncha steel whizzing around in oil baths and doing odd things. They make noises.

Typical smitty reply. Adds nothing. We can only hope he can pay off enough of his truck so he can sell it and go away.

I've never seen anyone so unhappy as him but so unwilling to get rid of truck.

    He secretly loves it. ;)

I'm glad I'm not the only one that notices how much this guy posts. I'm rarely ever on here, but for some reason I always catch all his posts. Toyota needs to do all of us a favor and buy his truck back.

Mine does the same thing at times and meh...I just ignore it. Seems to be "part of the design". At least that's what they'll tell ya. Haha

Transmission clunking. Rumored to be fixed in the next revision for the transmission tsb that's in development.

Hope so, what's your source for that?- dealers are still flashing to calibration 8966304B0300 (new trucks of the line are still shipping with 8966304B0200 as of NOV). 8966304B0300 is the version that addressed the 5-6 hunting on the highway (I was told "300" version holds 5 a bit more instead of always jumping to 6). Not sure on the hard 1-2 shift on accel or the "clunk" being part of a transmission calibration fix. When we had our tsb done the only change we noticed was the hunting on the highway. still harsh 1-2 and clunking when rolling to a stop intermittently (and yes transmission fill was verified per protocol - we were told that the short fill ATF was an issue for earlier 3rd gens and that they have their fill protocol sorted at the factories now).

...^^^... I have same thing intermittently, mainly on cold morning, since new.

Mine sounds like a "rear-end-clunk" or a "driveshaft clunk" under rear area.

Have gotten use to it now, since it is so infrequent ... non performance issue.
