    Hey there,

I have a 2016 Tacoma Limited. My blind spot monitor indicator on my side mirrors started acting weird a couple months ago. The light in my side mirror would randomly flicker regardless if I had the button pressed on or off.
About a month ago, the fuse for my climate control on my dashboard, which includes the defrost and blind spot indicator on my side mirrors, shorted out. I replaced the fuse thinking that this would fix the problem, but it only lasted about half a day and then it shorted out again. Basically every time I put a new fuse in, the fuse blows up within a couple hours.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this that could share their experience/possible fix before I bring it in to the dealership?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Welcome to TW! :)

    Are you the original owner?
Have any modifications been done to any of the circuits protected by that fuse?

It sounds like a wire is shorting to ground.
If no modifications have been done, it is possible that mice may have been chewing on some wires.

Here is the blind-spot monitoring circuit. Lots of stuff to check. :(

There is a TSB for Blind Spot Monitor Abnormal Operation on the 2016 (T-SB-0213-17). This may be the same issue.

Thanks @ShirtTucker! I'm the second owner, but I know that the original owner did not do any modifications. I'll go through the wiring details and see if I can find anything. I pulled my side mirror apart yesterday, thinking I'd look at the first obvious spot. Didn't look like there was any wear on any wire...

Thanks @dilbert! That's good to know that there is a TSB for the spot monitor. It's a pain that the fuse for it is the same as the climate control, ugh... I'll have a read and try to go through the steps to determine if that's the issue. Thanks again for your help!
