Just got off the phone with curt and they said they wont have a harness out until mid to end of march cause they are having trouble sourcing the plastic connectors for the ends that attach to your tail light wiring!

I think I'm going to buy the Curt Class III in the mean time and install it on my truck. I think the best price I've seen is $157 free shipping. I don't have any immediate towing needs yet so I'll pick up the harness when it comes out.

It helped a lot to have pictures of the fit on the Taco. This Curt model is clean looking

I need a 2016 factory hitch and am hoping the Hopkins plug and play wiring works.

I looked into that at first but that cost compared to $160 for the Curt bolt on and a 20 min install without having to remove anything I just decided to go that route since towing is very low on my priority list. I do like having the ability to put a rack or other accessories on my truck and def think every truck should come with a hitch... kinda lame Toyota didn't just make at hitch standard but with lower tow rating for 4c and no tow package models.

Curt tow hitch arrived this afternoon, heavy duty feeling for sure, it annihilated the box during shipping but they do a good job taping the accessories to the hitch so even with half the box falling apart it was still in perfect shape when I unpacked it with all items intact. Will follow up tomorrow with install pics.

Hitch installed, only was able to put in the 2 bolts on each side near the spare, seems like the front two bolts were meant fish through the square tube then turn upright then drop down in a normal square sized channel (which the Curt directions seem to show a normal square channel in their diagram). My truck starts off at either end a normal square but as it drops down towards the mounting holes it narrows and becomes rectangular shaped. There is no easy way I can see to get the bolts to turn upright and drop down with the metal tabs on them at the same time.
