My 2016 DCSB keeps blowing the 5 amp PANEL fuse in the in-cab fuse box. I've not had any problems with this circuit, or any other for that matter, since owning the truck. I noticed about a week ago my dash lights (ac control lights, all push buttons, steering wheel control lights, window/power lock switch lights) were not coming on and my stereo was obnoxiously bright at night. Found the 5 amp panel fuse blown, which I thought was odd. After replacing the fuse, all was fine for about a week and now it has blown again. I have done no mods in the fuse box. The only electrical mod I've done is a ham radio mounted under the driver seat, with a remote head mounted on the dash, that is wired directly to the battery. I'm at a loss here. Thoughts?!

Anyone? I replaced the fuse after going over the harness from the tail lights to the cab and not finding anything obviously wrong. The dash lights worked fine for about a week and the fuse blew again tonight when I started my truck.

I know from experience it is hard to trace down an issue like this. I would check anything you have done to the truck concerning these items that are out when it blows. Anything that is not working when it is blown could be a culprit. Did you change out LED's for lights that are blowing? Replace fuse and try and see what causes it to blow as well is another option. Maybe just put a 10 or 15 amp fuse in and see if it still blows if you can't find it. Good Luck and keep us updated.

I haven't changed anything or added and LEDs. The only thing added to the truck that requires power is a HAM radio that is wired directly too the battery (fused of course). That is what is so frustrating about this issue.

It’s a hard one to track down if you haven’t played with any wiring. What I would personally do, is replace 5a with 7.5a (wiring can take it). If that blows then it’s more than lightly a short. If not, something on the circuit is pulling too much power. Then (if it didn’t blow), id go back to 5a and unplug everything from circuit and plug it back in slowly, so if I could figure it out. But before all that, I’d track down the wiring diagram for that circuit.

I'd start with removing any modifications or changes made to the electrical system.

Put a jumper in the fuse socket tune to maximum smoke replace all charred parts. How did you mount the two way? Chance you may have drilled through a wire? Generally undisturbed wiring does not fail components yes.

I had the same issue . The dealership said it’s the a/c amplifier that’s causing the problem which of course is not covered under the platinum extended warranty
