I am wanting to install a dual battery system into my 2016 Tacoma TRD sport to run radios, an air compressor, and lights. So far I have not been able to find a dual battery tray that I can confirm fits. I can mount it over on the passenger fender due to the ABS unit. Ideally I want a tray that goes into the stock location and hold two batteries. My only other option is to install an AGM battery behind the second row seats in the cab, although if I go that route, I could use a much larger 100ah deep cycle battery. I was planning on using a ML-ACR for automatic coupling, and a blue sea fuse box to wire up all my accessories. Help point me in the right direction Tacoma World. Thank you for your time!

Thank you, I didn't see it listed on their site but I contacted them, doesn't hurt to ask. Well thank you, I've been a lurker here for 8 months or so, finally had a question to ask lol

FYI, Offgrid4x4's mount only works with the TRD Offroad with ATRAC (says on their website). Unless you want to re-route the brake lines

I don't see the kit for the 3rd gen on their web site. Is it the same or just not listed?

Looks like that doesn't help OP because he has a Sport...

I'm sure there are other options out there.

Yup, That's why I chimed in. I heard of some companies "working" on a dual system in the factory location, but would require 2 smaller batteries.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that. I've been watching since the '16s came out, but not too closely since I wasn't buying one until the '17s come out. I now have a build date (week of 9/4) so I'll have to pay more attention.

I haven't been able to get a difinative answer if there is a stock location dual battery tray available for the 2016 from any vendors. Hmm, I'd like to keep everything under the hood, however I might just suck it up and remove the plastic trays behind the second row seats. I could probably fit a 100AH AGM battery behind the passenger side, and that would be more than enough capacity for all my future needs. I liked the idea of under the hood, because I could use two optima yellow tops, and tie them together for winching so I don't toast a battery from over discharge. I doubt a AGM deep cycle will like being tied into the main during winching. Also under hood I would deal with less voltage drop from my charging system to the second battery. Does anyone know the largest battery I can fit into the stock location? If I mount a large AGM behind the seat, I'll probably get a odyssey or something similar for my main under hood battery.

Make sure to use a sealed-type battery for inside the cab.

With ATRAC, so that's manual transmission only right?

ATRAC is TRD offroad, the TRD sport is non ATRAC. My dad has a TRD offroad automatic, and the ABS is tied into the brake booster, not on the passenger side of the vehicle like my sport. However I'm going to be regearing to 4.56 and arb lockers, so I took the sport vs the offroad

I have a dual set up in my 100 series Land Cruiser.

You might try Slee off-road in Golden. Christo is owner, Amery and Ben usually pick up the phone. He makes one for an FJ, might work for the Taco, with some minor adjustments.

All I see listed are second battery trays that place a second battery away from the primary located in the driver side front behind the headlight. I am looking for a tray that allows my to put two battery's side by side in the stock location

Batteries are heavy..... I think it is in Crom's build thread where he talks about having big heavy batteries and warping the radiator support.

I'm not trying to steer you away from a dual setup (I plan on one in the future), but I might not mount them together.
