I got the email saying I'm getting new windseal rails, the front windseals are too tight they said. Will they have weather stripping all the way to the end ??? I dunno.

The way the tailgate panel closes now is perfect. I hope the front panel will open and close well too !

I can drop the panel at less than 35 degree angle and it closes and latches so well ! No pushing, just rock solid latching. The seal at the end of the tailgate panel seems to have settle in shape already.

Fold-A-Cover is stepping up to the plate and admitting an error. Overall its a fine product, soon to be perfect finally !

New wind seal rails. To address the front not closing properly. Sorry I miss read the post about the seal at the back.

I do not think mine leaks from the rear in the corners. But it would be better to have that spot covered.

Did anybody have one on a 2nd gen? I wonder what design differences make it easier to install (I'm pretty sure it took me well over 2 hours to install on my last truck).

This is my first Tacoma. It only took me about 1 hour to get it on. I am not sure what the differences are.

The replacement wind rails have shipped. The parts should get here is a day to two. There is no changes to the weather stripping. Fold-A-Cover replied that the back corner was not a known source of leaks.

Once the new parts are on , I'll follow up on how everything working.

Well to my surprise I got new rails today on the fold a cover, I guess JohnO took care of all of us,
    Thanks JohnO
Upon first examination I don't see any difference but will have to examine the weatherstripping to see if I can find the difference. There wasn't any letter or explanation with the rails. Will probably put on tomorrow.

Installed the replacement rails provided by Fold-A-Cover. The new rails fit the front and back panels evenly, not excessively tight.
The rear tailgate panel closes well with a slight drop. The front panel still seems more "fussy" about latching. I've got the striker's at the lowest setting and the drivers side panel in front is still protruding upwards slightly maybe half an inch. The front passengers side lay's very close to flat.
The back panel lay's flat when latched.
I had to move the front drivers side latch mechanism to center it over the striker. The other 3 latches required no adjustments and were centered well.
Possibly there is still an issue with the striker brackets in front.
Maybe the seals need some time to settle into position.
Next weekend I'll tweak the latches and strikers in front to see if I can get the front panel to close as well and flat as the back panel.

Thanks for the update, been to cold and rainy here for me to do much. Hopefully this weekend if I can find some time I'll get the new rails installed.

Thanks for the updates! Did they address the weather stripping issue with the new rails that were shipped out?

As far as the weather stripping the wind rails are unchanged.
Kyle at Fold-A-Cover said it was not a known source of leaks. He assured me, because he has a Fold-A-Cover on his truck, that the missing stripping is not a known leak point.
Probably every fold-a-cover has the same amount of stripping on the end of the curved part of the rails .
Weather tightness and security are important to me as I always am traveling with lots of tool in the bed, but maybe a little air circulation is OK. At this time I'm not going to install the Tailgate seal.
I'm concerned about trapping moisure and damaging my tools.
After heavy rains and washing the cover and truck, I Iooked and very little water seeped in. Having a rubber bed mat also helps a lot. I doubt during a heavy unexpected thunderstorm the bed would flood.
Of course, later I might install the tailgate seal if things start getting to to wet. The entire area covered by the Fold-A-Cover seems to be water tight, no leaking around the panel folds or front and back seal edges.

Finally got the email notification from fold-a-cover that the G4 Elite is now available for the 2016 Tacoma. Hopefully they're better at building covers then they are at proofreading their sales notices.

Installed my Fold a cover last night. Install was fairly easy. I'm not a very mechanical person, and only ran into a few issues. Was missing 2 split washers, no big deal, a trip to Lowes solved that problem. The wind seal rails were a little tight and I needed to put them in the widest position for the cover to close. The only real trouble I had was getting the back cover to close completely. After adjusting the latch and striker bolt it still wouldn't close without some force. I was hoping that the once the seal on the front end took shape the problem would be solved. I made sure the front seal wasnt folded under after closing it and applied pressure to the front door in order to close this. I let the seal sit overnight and take shape. Next day went out and the seal now properly conformed to the truck. The front door closes just fine. The front seal was preventing the door from closing perfectly, but once it flattens out its good. Will update with waterproofness after our first good rain or when I get a chance to wash it.

Anyone have any pics showing where/how they placed the tailgate seal?

Directons were a little confusing, but I believe I installed as directed. My pictures hopefully show better than I can describe.

I ordered a G4 yesterday (6/19), it shipped today and scheduled to arrive on 6/23. Appreciate the insights posted previously.

Installed with no issues. You do need to take your time and be patient with the instructions, but once done and adjusted everything fits very tight. I'll leave it closed/locked for a few days to allow the rubber flaps to mold to their position. With a thunderstorm on it's way, we'll see how water tight it is.

Did you guys use loctite on all the bolts as suggested in the instructions? My plan was to get everything installed and fitted properly (which it now is) then go back and remove/reinstall all the bolts one at a time with loctite. The install videos on foldacovers web site never mentions or shows the use of loctite.

I used it. The only ones you really need to go back and adjust/torque down after initial threading are the 2 front and 2 back that secure the side rails to the mounts. You can loctite those when you do the final adjustment. Also, you should install the T-nut in the 2 rear clamps after finishing step #1. The instructions have you inserting later, after the rails are on, and inserting from the bottom. They won't go when that clamp is installed as the OEM bolt blocks the opening.
