I searched and couldn't find any posts for the stock 3rd gens so I wanted to ask if anyone has noticed a front end suspension clunk and creeking noise on their 2016-2017.

Almost sounds like a sway bark bushing or strut mount that's bad. Happens over abrupt bumps at slow speeds.

Truck is a 16 Trd sport.

Have you recently had an alignment? I had a bad clunk after an alignment with my old truck that was solved by retorquing all the bolts on the front LCA, especially the alignment dials. They require a very high torque value which most alignment shops won't observe.

If you haven't, it can't hurt to recheck all the torque but if you can easily reproduce it, just drop it off at the dealer since it's so new.

Thanks and nope no alignment. I had it at the dealer for it 2 weeks ago and it's still happening. Truck might have 6000 miles on it.

Back to the dealer again for it I guess

Ask to ride with a technician and make it do the noise with them. I had my complaint dismissed twice before I asked to ride with a tech and reproduced the noise but with myself driving and again with them driving. Once they acknowledge the noise, it's much easier to get somewhere with them.

    Good luck!

Make sure the cab mount bolts are tight.

Thank you for the tip. I'll check them and also tell the dealer to look when it goes in

Could be the frame bushing up front. There's a thread on here some where. Mines starting at almost 7k.

Mine has something simular. Going over bumps, kinda sounds like something hitting the rock guard or something, I think it's going to be normal sound, just wish I knew what it was

Yep. I took mine into the dealer twice; I started having the same exact issue on my SR5 at 6,000ish miles. The first time I got the old "cannot replicate." The second time they said they tightened something, maybe what Aussie said. Not sure what they tightened since the tech was not around and the desk guy did not know what he was talking about. I will call them and see if I can find out; the noise was a little less frequent after the second visit, but not completely gone.

Good to know I'll have to mention the frame bushing since I can predict that the dealer will just look at the coil spring and tell me they don't see anything wrong. It's been to 3 different dealers for this noise and every one says they don't see anything that can cause it

I'm at 10,500mi and it been going on for 5k now. Dealer said they couldn't replicate it but it's a known problem and a fix is in the works. Something about adding shims. It's damn annoying though!

It turned out to be a fromt right body frame mount. I believe it is the common issue with them.

Was replaced under warranty. Took 2 days though since parts took a bit to get in.

Also had the dealer grease the u joints

What is the problem exactly. Mine has been doing it but only has 1k miles. Not enough time to go bad

They told me the centre of the bushing wears out and causes the rubber part to crack or collapse I think. Which causes a metal on metal contact that makes the noise.

Yes I had that problem when my truck was new.. It made a huge clunk every time I slowly and gently went over a speed bump.
I told the dealer that at my oil change and it was fixed. Something needed to be tightened. I don't what they tightened by it's fine now.

I now think it's the drive shaft. not sure why, at first thought it was the front rock guard by the sound but not sure any more. body mounts and everything is nice and tight
