2016 Tacoma grill fit on a 2006??

The 2016 Tacoma front grill is really growing on me. I wonder if there is a way I can make it fit on my 2006?

 

I would go for the 4 runner front end treatment.

 

After seeing them in person, the designers knew what they were doing.

 

Idk about a 2006, but I already put a 2016 trd pro ebay grille on my 2007

 

it would overwhelm your truck. All people would see is a giant grill coming down the road.

 

It would feel like I'm driving a 2016

 

Remember, the Dodge stared this whole big mouth truck design, blame them.

You could probably do it, but you'd also need a lot of other parts (hood, fenders, bumper, headlights, front doors, various bracketry, etc.). In terms of front-end swaps, it would actually not be too hard to do.

Has anyone actually done this, though? Not that I've seen.

 

I was surprised to see that the '16 grille is only slightly larger than an '05-'11. Pictures can be deceiving.

 

Looks better than the 2016s.

 

We can make it fit. I need a sawzall, spray-paint and a fresh batch of bondo. Maybe some wood screws and L brackets to hold it in place.

Sorry I know this thread is old... Does anyone know of a aftermarket grill similar to the 2016 that would fit the 2nd gen body style (mine is a 2015)

 

coming from a 3rd gen owner, IMHO the second gen trd pro grille looks so much better.
