Hello everyone, looking for some advice. I purchased a CPO 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport a few months ago and love the truck. I was at the Toyota Dealer for service and also had a TSB performed for my transmission when I notice a 2017 Tacoma sitting in the showroom with a ICON Stage 6 lift. This truck looked awesome and now I want to do the something to my Tacoma. My question is should I go with the ICON stage 6 or something that is less expensive. I go off road a bit but nothing to crazy (yet). Looking for advice and suggestions.
    Thanks.

You get what you pay for. Go with what you can afford. If you can afford the Icon stage 6, then use the search feature.

    Common questions:

Why do you want a lift?
    What's your budget?
What are you using the truck for?

I went with Toytec and am liking it so far

I am using my truck to go off road in the desert to get to the dive site to go diving

I like the look of the truck with a lift but I can see myself getting into more and more off road riding

Oh, sorry I'm not the person to ask this, hopefully someone else can assist. I'm in escrow so although I'm not homeless or starving in another country (thank the Lord) any extra money is saved, at least until we have a stockpile of emergency funds.

Cool. Depending on what your budget is you could spend a little, or a lot. Bottom of the list is Bilstein 5100's. Top of the list are Kings (that's what most people here would say I think).

If you have the funds go big cause why not :p, but you for sure don't "need" Icon Stage 6 or something in the 5k bracket.

Another approach is to forget the looks, and wait till you find you need the lift for a functional reason. May never happen.

Your price above is vague, as you don't quote labor. Bet it doubles the price.

If you still want to proceed, at least give Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road a call and see what they can do for you parts wise. Then install it yourself.

The dealers around my area subcontract installs to another shop - none of the dealers do the install. Expect over 3k in labor.

    4600 + TAX + 3000 = :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

He means, if you're contemplating almost 5k in parts (plus install) you have a decent amount of disposable income.

For my setup the shop install took about 6.0 hours. Then it had to go for alignment

So Findlay Toyota in Vegas quoted 1300 labor plus the 10% off

I don't know how it is where you live, but around here the dealer won't touch the aftermarket components. They'll let you add it to financing and they'll have a local shop they're in network with do the lift. That being said, maybe do a little research to see who is going to be handling your truck. Both the dealership and the shop are going to want some of that extra cash just for allowing them to lift it. I had my bp51s with UCA's and tires thrown on my truck and it was about 7k when it was all said and done. I provided the wheels.

That seems real steep. How long does it take and what are they charging per hour?

Assuming alignment is included, $1300 is a good price IF installed at the dealer. Ask if they will give you warranty - better yet, request in writing that existing warranty is not affected

So. Doesn't that work out to about 20% of the price of the truck?

I don't have the quote anymore but Toyota Livermore wanted 3k for my OME install, no alignment. They would have another shop install it.
