Keeping track with fuelly and I am averaging 24 MPG(US) or 9.8l/100km. Hardly any highway driving mostly all rural roads driving 70 or 80 km/h. The dash computers estimate seems pretty close to what I am actually getting. Only 3600 km on the truck so far. Been babying the truck quite a bit as well.

^^^ This is what you have to do to get great fuel economy on this truck. For most of us, you'll see 17-19mpg.

Ya that's the sweet spot, 1500rpm at 70-80km/hr. And you guys in Nova Scotia have higher urban / rural speed limits compared with BC atleast around Halifax and surroundings. (At least that was how I felt driving around there for 3 months)

Currently have 3600 miles on the clock of my 2016 TRD sport 4x4 manual. I have a 1.5 mile commute and average 13 mpg. My old 2005 TRD offroad would get about 15 mpg on the same commute. A bit surprised that it's worse but I think has to do with power delivery of the Atkinson Cycle engine. Best I've gotten on highway has been 17 mpg, and I averaged 15 mpg driving on the highway through West Virginia. I had to shift way more in the new truck through the mountains than my 2005 (power higher in RPM in the 2016). Both trucks have/had +1 oversized tires BFG KO2s.

You're running KO2s on factory rims? If they're those E rated sidewalls, that's what's killing your mileage.

Had E rated on the 2005 Taco, went for C rated on the 2016 Taco (on TRD Pro Sema wheels).

I get about 20 mpg combined. When I first got my truck I was getting like 23 but then came to find out my tires were at 40psi of pressure. There's your mileage.

See my signature. These fuelly tanks are every tank except off road and towing tanks. On those tanks I'm in the 13 to17 range.

I have an 1979 Raleigh road bike converted to single speed that I ride to work in spring, fall, and warmer winter days. I come come every day at lunch so in the summer in NC I don't care to sweat through 4 times a day so I drive. Weather has finally cooled off so I'm riding to to work in am then truck after lunch. In a week or so it will be bearable to ride all day, looking forward to it.

I am right there with you. My commute is about 2.5 miles. I have 4400 miles on it and I average 15-16 (corrected) mpg with the E rated ko2s.

Only have 1400 miles on it, but 5 fill ups with an average of 18.6. I have a 40 mile each way with about 20 of that highway to get to work. Last tank was 19.2 so I'm thinking I'm finding the rhythm for better MPGs in it.

I'm at 17.8 overall with the 2100 miles I have on my truck. Cooper 265/70/17 stt pros in E rating. Couple hundred miles offroad and just under 50 mile round trip commute to work every day. Stop and go traffic in the afternoon.

Does anyone have any advice for me? I have a 2015 tacoma V6 6spd. When I was driving around in New Mexico, I was getting 21 miles per gallon on the highway. Since then I’ve been driving in California with a overland rack and tent, now getting 16.2 mpg. I know California Tacoma’s are rated at 19mpg on the highway, but I can’t imagine going down to 16mpg due to the rack. When I remove the tent, I get 0.2 mpg better.

Altitude most likely. You have greater air density down there (unless your up in the Sierra) and its mixing more fuel to match. More power too.
