    NOOOOOOOO, Don't do that!!! lol
Mine does it also. Much worse if you hit bumps while in neutral (you should really almost always be in a selected gear though) it drives me crazy when people never downshift and just use the brakes to stop. It gets better as you become accustomed to the way the truck drives. At 24,000 miles I hardly ever hear clanging from the drivetrain anymore. On the occasion that my wife has to drive the truck the resulting noises make me cringe. Take it to the dealer to ease your mind, then enjoy it.

i think i have the same sound, but it's subtle and not indicating anything like trouble. can any of you guys confirm this sound (mild clunk when out of gear and hitting bumps or whatever) is kinda resonant and seems like it's coming from the bell housing area? I'm wondering if it's normal flywheel or clutch noise? I've never had a truck with a large bell housing like this before, so i can't say it's the same exact sound like my previous MT's.

Same on my rig. I've driven other trucks with M/T that do the same thing. Greasing up the U-joints seems to lessen the effect, but only temporarily.

    Love this thread...............

All the auto haters tell folks they should have had manual to avoid the continual plague (of some owners) of auto issues.

And all the while the (some) manual owners have their own issues

All in all neither of these are as good as the ones with 0/20 oil in their differentials.

Same sound here. It's normal. I have an 89 toyo truck. Does the same thing just not as noticeable. While gears are not engaged things rattle around a bit. If it were tight things will break. I have a dirt driveway with bumps slightly down hill I coast in neutral down the slight decline and have heard it from day one. Only 700 miles on her now.
