2016 Tacoma Metal Gas Tabs (?)

Hi everyone! First poster here. 2016 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 owner since March 2016.

I was filling my gas tank today, suddenly realized that I didn't have one of those metal spring-loaded gas tank cover/flap/tabs that I was used to seeing.

Can anyone confirm if this is normal? Just want to be sure that this is okay, and that I shouldn't be concerned. I appreciate the feedback! Thank you.

 

You mean the things that holds your cap while you are filing up? You are correct. The taco does not have this. I found it strange too.

Hi bucktowntaco! Thank you. I actually mean that little metal flapper (about the size of a quarter) that pushes open when you insert the gas pump into the tank. I know that older cars had them, my old Chrysler did. But I didn't notice it on my Taco and I wanted to see what other people had to say and if they had it on their 2016s.

 

Ahhh. I see. I have not seen that in some time (at least not on my past 4 foreign cars)
