The miles to empty indication amount has changed. I would usually see over 375 miles to empty upon fill up now it is closer to 275. Any way to reset this or check in the menu?

Its all fake numbers anyway. Just drive the truck until you need fuel again.

Disconnect and reconnect the negative battery terminal.

They calculate based on real time data. My wife's cruise will say 300 miles to empty when full tank after driving around town for a couple days. If I hit the freeway it'll keep climbing for the first 100 miles or so peaking around 5 or 600 miles to empty, then start ticking downwards. (it's a diesel, easily gets WELL over 600 miles if just cruising on the freeway). So yeah, those calculators can show vastly different numbers based on driving habits/ latest averages.

See, I've only been around a few cars with these, but they've all been great. But they have to have good data to be accurate, and that usually means they're only accurate when driving the same speed/load/etc over longer periods of time. My car knows I usually get around 20-24 mpg if I'm just commuting with it for weeks on end. Once I hit the freeway and get 100 miles on it, it recalcs and is again accurate. My sister's 1st gen raptor on a long road trip towing a trailer we watched the miles tick down (matching the odometer) to 6 miles left (power was out for extended area in montana and no gas was available). We filled the truck and the pump registered just over the truck's maximum capacity. Again, this was after hundreds of miles of relatively consistent driving.

I rarely look at Miles To Empty. I fill up when my fuel gauge gets to a quarter of a tank. Not sure about the Tacoma fuel pump, but in general fuel pumps like to be kept cool sitting in enough gas.
