Hi guys in the market for a 2016 blue TRD off road 4x4 double cab short bed!I placed a refundable deposit and ordering the truck with the premium and tech package with the moon roof, tow package. Bed mat, All weather floor mats and door sills, and the tonneau cover, I believe im getting the truck for about 150 over invoice then tax and fees come out to 41-42 OTD. Oh also got the RS alarm system

1.First question is should i wait for 2017 if so when does that come out? Any differences?

2.Second am i getting a deal on this one? 150-200 bucks over invoice not MSRP i did an estimate price because they cannot give me a price till the truck is made.

    3. Am i missing any options i should get or be aware of? What color interiors can I get on the blazing blue besides the graphite?

Thanks All i cant wait to be a future taco owner!

I have a blue 2016 limited double cab short bed 4x4 that I'm trading in next month . I would wait for the '17 to come out or find a low mileage '15.
I personally don't like my '16 I've had way too many issues in 8000 miles .
I would also suggest finding a U.S.A. Built vs Mexico . My truck was assembled in Mexico and I think that has a lot to do with my laundry list of issues

It doesn't. People are experiencing the same issues regardless of if the truck was made in texas or mexico.

And for OP, it doesn't really matter honestly. 2017 probably won't have any significant changes compared to 2016. And if any issues were to be acknowledged (this is the key) and fixed, 2016 will get a TSB.

Well if you are getting the same price on a 16 vs 17, I imagine the 17 makes sense, since it is newer. At this time of the year, I would expect a 16 to be discounted given its a model year old. However, my talk with a few sales people (looking to order 6MT DC), is that there isn't much of a discount on a 16. Thus 17 makes more sense.

I am sorry but I doubt this has anything to do with the gen 3 issues. Lots of issues coming out of San Antonio plant too. In spite of the gen 3 issues Toyota keeps quality on all plants within a close tolerance.

Add the options and get the invoice price. Offer them $500 over invoice. That's normally a decent deal and a reasonable dealer would work with you on that. Don't have time to do the math on all of your options below but ballparking it I think you could do better

Thank you kindly. I am just happy they were able to find what I was looking for. I will look up the options, and offer $500 as you suggested.

Thank you for the help. Going out of state has been the only solution.

Going with the manual might be the ticket , because the majority of my issues are automatic trans related

My transmission /Tacoma issues will officially be fixed June 25th , as long as the boat doesn't sink on its way from Japan with my 4Runner lol
