2016 tacoma orange surround dash

hi there.. got a strange deal here. i am looking at a 2016 Tacoma.. the vin says it's a SR5, BUT, it's got a sunroof, hood scoop, no chrome rear bumper, and 6 foot bed.. AND NO badgeing on the bed. clean carfax, no accidents? my question: could this have been a special order? the features don't add up to a SR5.

Post a pic of it. What radio does it have? A lot of times the vin will show Sr5 because a Sport or Off Road are basically a Sr5 with added features (shhh, don't tell the Off Road guys this). This sounds like it is a TRD Sport. Bed stickers are easily removed.

 

Does it have an orange surround dash? That’s the title of your post. Are you speaking about the inferno dash accents? Pics would help.

Well based off that logic, a SR5 is basically a pro too... just with less features.

 

The SR5 is a Camry with more features.

 

It could be an SR5 or a Sport.

pics would help. The VIN and registration are random. They don’t accurately follow the Toyota label. Lots of pros and Offroad’s that comes up as SR5s when searching the VIN.

If it has a scoop it is likely a debadged Sport or a SR5 that someone did a hood swap on.

 

Modifications are not out of the question. Maybe the hood was changed.

 

All sports and offroads are based on SR5's. It's just trim levels.

Easiest way to tell if its a true sport is the vin.

Sports had textured seats, painted door handles and all automatic TRD's have smart key. They also have colour matched fender flares.

It sounds like a sport missing the badging.

Except for the chrome bumper. Maybe we found someone that likes it enough to add it?

Also, we acknowledge that there are mechanical differences between models. I don’t have a locker or the right member to easily add an OEM locker on my SR5...

 

So what you are saying is you can get crawl control/MTS in an SR-5? Different Braking system? E-locker? Etc.

 

Sr5 never came with a sunroof. It’s a Sport.

And the Camry is just a Yaris with more features...

 

The orange dash surround in the title also points at a Sport, I bet its orange to boot.

 

I found out I have a Sport Limited today. It's the rearview mirror that identifies the truck.
