2016+ Tacoma Raptor Lights kit

So does anyone have pics on how the wired them into the DRL? I have an idea on how, but I would like a second look. And another question is can the DRL handle the added electric load to run the raptor lights?

 

What raptor light kit are you using? Do you have a link?

 

It’s likely not a kit, i wired up some lights I bought from superbrightleds.com and built a mount for them using a small price of aluminum angle from Lowe’s. Wasn’t too hard and saved me $40 bucks and yku could use whatever color lights you want

 

Just got mine on. Install was kind of a pain in the ass. Its a pain getting the grille off anyway with this bumper and I broke two clips trying to separate all the layers. They may have been weak from the first time I took them off to put in the Pro insert. Anway, lots of questions about wiring..

I wanted the raptor lights to be on all the time with my DRL's which I have on all the time. sooo, I grounded out the raptor lights on a screw in my engine bay, right next to the negative battery terminal. I ran the fuse tap into the engine bay. I currently have the first and second (top) fuses on the left taped for my roof and bumper light bars, so I tapped the armrest cigarette lighter. So the raptor lights turn on and off with the car. I would have liked to have them turn on and off with the DRLs but didn't see a fuse tap for DRL's. Anyway, I think it looks cool, even though they are mostly obscured by the bumper.

 

About 6 bucks and a hour of my time. Wired into the park lights right off the plug. Color matches perfect

I swear this has been asked and answered but I'm going to do it again, can these not go to the outer-most hole on the pro grill? Looks like you could have moved the LEDs one more gap left of the T and one more right of the A?

 

I wish I took pics when I was installing this. If you look back a few posts ( #15 and #51 ) you can see how the brackets line up/mount and the length of the cable. With the kit from TacomaPros it is set up the install as seen but you are definitely free to be different. I hope that helps you!

 

Can these lights be wired directly into the DRL's?

 

Yes. Mine are tapped in to the drivers side DRL

Does anyone know if this kit can be wired to a switch? And how hard would that be if possible? Sorry if this question sounds dumb but I haven’t done any wiring projects for my truck yet. @Yotamac

 

Yes, it can be wired to a switch no problem. I have this kit wired to my SwitchPros.
It is literally a hot and negative wire, and all the lights are wired together.

 

Details? Just run the raptor lights to a ground and add-a-fuse? Then to the cab switches?

 

Do you have this available for 2001-2004 tacomas?

 

Do the raptor lights match the side markers?
