Oh yes! Scoop is in and that means tomorrow the hood gets painted!
As this is my first paint job, it could get interesting.
Hinges will be here Saturday so it should be a nice button it up weekend!

 

I suck at painting, but one trick that works for me is hang the panel upside down from the cieling, then spray it. You won't get any particles in your paint, but you will get lots of paint on you.

I don't have a paint booth, so this is my red neck version.

No runs in the paint either.

I need to cut and buff to get it shiny! I am crossing my fingers that it's close in color.

Alright, Hinges didnt change a damn thing. Paint does not match. Back to the drawing board. I may tear it all the way back down and get the passenger side inner fender sub assembly replaced. It was crinkled and all I did was level it for the Power steering fluid reservoir. Then it sits high in the front just a little too so maybe elevate the hinges with some fabricated spacers...
I will get some pictures and see what you guys think, I had to get into work this morning.

 

It’s looking good. Keep up the work and let’s get those pictures on here for the completed rebuild! Nice looking truck so far.

 

Drive that thing down here and get it my shop and we will go to stretching and banging and get it the way you want it.

 

you could always go for the desert prerunner look and just do a matte black hood. OR if you have a vinyl shop nearby they may be able to match the MGM paintjob and wrap the hood.
