I hope the larger engine configuration isn't only 3.5L. Why not take the same technology in the new engine, and still have it 4.0 instead of 3.5L? It's a truck, as long as the baseline mileage doesn't get worse I don't care what it is. NEED MOAR POWAH.

Judging by the "4x4" badge, I bet next gens will either have no mudflaps, or they may still have them, but they will be plain like the PreRunner style without the 4x4 on them. As it would be redundant to have 4x4 on the back, visible in three places.

As funny as it sounds, I actually like the "4x4" on the mudguards. It's one of traditional traits all Toyota trucks have had since almost the beginning.

My mudflaps say 4WD as do all the older trucks.

They have to have mud flaps, don't they? CA requires mudflaps but I'm not sure in what case they're unnecessary.

I don't think they are required as Rams, Silverado's and F-150's don't come with them.

I never really noticed either, but then just looked out in the parking lot and noticed out of about 15-20 Dodge, Ferds and Chebby's in our lot. Not one has mudguards.

All states are different, but many do require mudflaps.

    same shit as everyone else
Ya'll can hate but if they would just add an electric assisted motor to the damn thing that would be epic! 25+ MPG with a some kind of highway fuel cutoff and a electric assist... I'll be first on the list to buy one.

Chevy did that for a few years, it didn't go over well. Added a punch of payload robbing weight. Also compromised storage under the rear seats to house the batteries. Cost more, only added about 1mpg improvement over the non-Hybrid Silverado and worst of all, almost nobody bought this thing.
