That year Z car was badass until you had to work in that extremely cramp engine compartment. Pretty much had to have little woman hands to work in them.

    Good looking overall, I think

Front end reminds me a new Mazda 6 when I first saw the pics online last night

Doesn't look to bad, I'm not crazy about the lower grille opening, looks like we get the joys of an oversized lower valence like the Colorado. I'm also not crazy about the taillights, they need to be darker and it looks like we lost led as well. A taillight design like the current t4r would of been sweet. Other then that truck looks good, those wheels might look good on my 2nd gen assuming wheel specs are kept the same. The cab looks the same, which could mean the suspicions of a reskin 2nd gen are true.

    Yep

looks like they did a face lift and call it all new just like on the tundra....

    funny...
the chevy dealer told me as soon as they get more on the lot to make a demo of one they will let me take one to hunt for the weekend....
Ask toyota if I could give the 16 a try and see if it tows my hunt trailer and handles the weight at highway speed... They said sure after you buy it....
They do not have demos or let people tow with any trucks on a test ride.
pay before you play or nothing....
Guess no reason to even look toyota any more.

at least it has a locking tailgate.

not a fan of that air damn in the front.

    Here's my take away:

No mud flaps, cab looks to be exactly the same as current tacoma, wheel stance is narrow like all toyota vehicles, front grill will take some getting used to, and the air dam on the front looks hideous.

It will be interesting to see what the trd sport looks like with more color match and less chrome.

I want interior pics! Overall I think it looks alright.. looks like they just decided to make the front end as bulky as possible. not bad design changes but i'm also not jealous about it having my '14 :)

toyota is well aware no one likes the air dam feature. it is there for mpg gains for marketing purposes. a few clips and bolts and it will be cleanly removed, for sure... GM's full-size trucks have been that way since 2007

Multiple articles state it's meant to be removable so it doesn't get broken while off road.

I see nothing wrong with the air dam, it gains mpgs. There's no way it takes more than 10 minutes to take off either
