It is a great truck. What you're are seeing is frustration with Toyota. They had 10 years to fix known problems and they just chose to ignore most of them. Also, people tend to vent their frustrations. You will always see more negative posts than positive ones.

Just looks like some lift kit stuff will be transferrable from the second gen, and we will have less time to wait before a complete kit comes out. I don't know about you guys, but I like doing some of the fixes! Thats half the fun of owning a tacoma!

I agree, ever since this truck was released nothing but hate and discontent. No one had driven one or even read a review of it yet.

It's an awesome truck... After I fixed it's shortcomings.

Toyota builds an awesome platform (in my honest opinion) one of the best wheeling vehicles you could currently buy right now. They have their deficiencies, just like every other automaker, but after a full decade of consumer road tests on this vehicle, you have had a chance to get feedback, and reports about how well the vehicle is holding up and what is a pattern common failure item. They have their list, yet it appears as if they have ignored it and continue to do nothing about it.

That's weird. I guess there were some variations between 2012 models? My U-bolt brackets and the bolts themselves are exactly colored the same way this one is.

It's not good vision. It's good zooming capabilities on the computer.

This guy right here nailed it. It's frustration. If you have a water leak from below your sink, do you continue to let it leak and rot out the floor on the bottom? Or do you fix it and get it over with?

The supposed "3rd gen" has 4 tires. WTF!? Does Toyota think we're stupid?! This is basically the same truck as my 2011, which also has 4 tires.

This, right here. I mean, my second gen is called a "mid sized truck" and this new supposed 'third gen' is also called a "mid sized truck". Same exact truck.

Oh I apologize profusely for being all 8up and not making Marine Logic out of it. Next time I'll make sure it actually doesn't make sense. :D

Silly me.This magical 3rd gen. Has a transmission in it just like my 2nd gen. Toyota's clearly trying to pull the wool over our eyes with these obvious shenanigans!

Totally. It also has 4 wheel drive. Second gens have 4 wheel drive. Toyota is just trying to fool us again with a new facelift.

If they're still using fossil fuels to propel this thing, I'm going to be pissed. They've had a hundred years to come up with something better. They must like, hate us AND the environment.
