2016 Tacoma Sound System Upgrade

    In Canada you can't order a TRD Sports Model, even with the upgrade package that will provide you with the premium JBL Sound system. So since I have the plain Jane Toyota variety, I am planning an upgrade.

    For now I am looking at an Audison Prima upgrade including the amplifier and 8 inch sub-woofer. Yes, expensive however I do want quality sound. Has any one else installed Audison audio equipment in their 2016 3rd Generation Tacoma's?

    An all out complete system upgrade would be $5-6,000 however I am looking at $3300 adding some low frequency reinforcement and utilizing the new amplifier on the existing speaker system.

    Never had any experience with Audison...

    Check into hybrid-audio. They have some great speakers and their Stage 6 is incredible.

    Are you saying you are going to keep the existing system and just buy a sub/amp? Why $3300? Even though they seem very expensive it seems like you could do that for $2000 or so with Audison gear.

    The Tacoma 2016 specification for Canada only permit the Limited edition to come with the Premium sound system including the JBL sub-woofer. So if your vehicle was new and purchased in Canada, it doesn't have the Premium sound system.

    The Audison is expensive in Canada however I am also paying professional installers to do the installation and tweaking plus it also has to tie in with the current Tacoma system integration. I haven't firmed up with the installers just what all that will be involved. I am assured that the sound quality will be far superior - night and day - as they say. I hope so for that type of money....

    For that money I'd hope it would be night and day... I'd assume that it would also be very simple to achieve night and day over stock... :anonymous:
