not necessary. The can is actually really small and has knurling for easy on/off.

I’ve only checked and dumped it once. I think it’s recommended to do it when you change the oil

or id check it after a trip. It takes all of 10 seconds.

They recommend you change it every 2-3,000 miles.

I'm gonna bump this thread again to say to any of my fellow Canadians reading this thread-

I found the DENSO plugs for 22.00 dollars each, plus free shipping. :1up: Cheaper than anywhere on interwebs, Amazons etc, and Dealers around here wanted ~30 / plug.

    Cheers

I checked there on search but nothing came up. Maybe I did something wrong ? Anyways between the dollar conversion and shipping, I'm almost positive no one can beat 20 loonies a plug.

I just bought them for $12.89 a plug with shipping. I'm sure shipping can't be an extra $7 per plug!

I'll be ordering from RockAuto because the dealer near me only carries the 30k life plugs. Pretty sweet deal for them since they can charge $500-600 per plug service change every 30k miles. What a scam. I asked why don't they carry the 60k life plugs like what came in the truck and what the service manual suggests and they just stared at me blindly. Then another person behind the counter begins to explain they could "special order" the 60k life ones but at $17.99 per. Not the parts peoples fault but obviously a dealer trick to earn more money. Don't even get me started about when I asked about the OEM transfer case fluid.

Never tried, but even if they ship, the conversion and shipping would be quite a bit.

I wanted to get borla exhaust from Amazon and shipping was about 300$. Thank god i found a canadian website motorwise.ca.

    I hate dealers man.

The other day i went in for some minor warranty work, first thing advisor said was that my alignment was off. He goes, our computer picked it up when you drove in and we charge 130. I said thanks, but my alignment is fine. I inspect my tires all the time and my truck drives perfectly fine.

I have so many fucked up dealer stories its not even funny. They just dont give a shit about you and more than half of the employees have no clue what they are talking about. Quite sad.

As usual the tech left it in gear, and i had a nice little jerk when i started my truck. Wife got so scared haha. I never leave it in gear, unless its on a hill.

I’m in Denver too and rock auto wouldn’t ship to me when I tried to order cause of tax reasons.

Edit/ had it shipped to my families house in MA and it went through. Seems kind of dumb.

That stinks. Looks like I'll just be ordering through Camelback Toyota then. Prices are pretty comparable.

I did. The long reach plugs and dry threads felt no good at all. Use the lower end of the torque range since the settings are based on dry threads.

I didn't swap plugs yet. Just checked the torque and condition.
