I have a fleet Tacoma 2016 SR Utility Package the dealership is telling me I can't put a jumpseat in this truck...is this true? Why? Why wouldn't this just be a bolt on option? If anyone has run into this issue please either confirm or deny this response from the dealer.

The whole point of the utility package is to delete the backseat and have a barebones work truck.. Get the regular SR or SR5 if you want seats.

someone is selling a set of jump seats in the classified section. But yes, if you want seats, skip the utility package.

If you want back seats. Don't order a truck without back seats. I have back seats and use them all the time.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Gen 2 folks have done this swap. Someday I'll want the utility bits in my truck, and gladly give up my seats/trim.

I'm sure a 16 can be done, but if you have to buy the parts new it will be pricey.

It is a work truck my company bought, but I need to haul kids once and awhile. Hence I need the extra seats. Someone in CAL was selling their back seats, I was wondering if it is a seamless swap? Does the SR Utility have all the bolt hole etc to accept the rear seats?

I've had the back panel out of my utility package for a while now for an unrelated project... anyways yes, all the bolt holes appear to be there.

What's not there, though, are the seat belts. They've got blanking plates on them and they're not part of an easily removed trim piece. You'd have to rip the truck open to get those reels in.

If you're cool with unsecured people in the back you could skip it, but I'm sure any insurance would ream you royally if someone got hurt.

@Nitori - Thanks! That is exactly what I was wanting to know. And yes, seat belts are a must. I'm not into getting reamed by insurance.

Aren't company furnished "work" trucks for "work", not family hauling? Who pays for gas?

FWIW my Utility Package 2015 AC looks like this and I can confirm all bolt holes are there and welded nuts are present, heck even my side rear air bags are in there.

The webbing reel nuts are also in the lower rear sections, as well as the belt buckle bolts.

I had mine tore apart to make some handy hangers for my grocery bags.

this sounds like those threads where the guy doesn't buy the tow package and then starts complaining that Toyota didn't wire the truck for tow lights far enough back to help him install tow wiring...

When I was looking the double cab wasn’t that much more than the access cab, not sure why you wouldn’t want that back seats
