    Takes 5 minutes to fix.

Mine only does it when it's cold outside. If it's cold and the sun's been on the roof or after running with the heat on, it stopped. Biggest issue with this was getting up the bollocks to pull the plastic overhead console off. Once that came off, i just taped the shit out of everything (didn't bother to try/figure out what was wrong). Hasn't done it since.

I have some mass loaded vinyl left from a project that I was going to glue to the roof interior to muffle noise. Also likely going to place reflective tape on the headliner for reduction in summer heat since it looked like plenty of space between headliner and roof for a good airgap between tape and roof. (figured that out when I took the plastic overhead thing off). Figure I'll take care of it for good when I do that project. But for now, she's been quiet.

Drive 45 min, argue with dealer, drive back 45 min: Eff it. do it myself.

It only sounds like its coming from roof but it is probably the passenger pillar area. I still need to fix mine. I just jam out to tunes and dont hear it lol

I had the dash squeak on the passenger side issue. Pulled into the dealer for a service, all I said was dash squeak and they were like, got it, we'll take care of it. Sure enough they fixed it.

Hope they find yours in the head liner.

I know exactly where is the problem.Around NYC ( Brooklyn , Queens mostly ) there is couple dealers but everybody is so busy doing brake pads and engine oil they just dont care.If they need to do something different its just mess for them.I told my "service advisor " where exactly the issue is located and he told me that they have to follow procedures

Had the same noise after 1 week of my new truck. Pulled down my center console and stuffed rubber weather strip foam inbetween metal struts and plastic frame. Also put cloth tape between plastic frame and headliner where glue was coming undone. Haven't had anymore noise. Pretty sad.

That's basically what I said and I recived an answer that this needs to be done with Toyota protocols because its under warranty. At this very moment I just regret bringing the truck to dealer lol?I Should do it myself.

Yes it's not hard. Just search for overhead console rattle. Just pull it straight down. Save the hassle of taking it down to the dealer. Save that for other bigger issues. I know it sucks, like my new truck has these ridiculous issues. Had a 2nd gen with zero problems. Have owned over 7 toyotas over the years, all were rock solid. My first was a $500 corona station wagon surf car.

my passenger side door handle rattles at a certain frequency. usually around 2.5-2.7 rpm in 1-4th gear, and certain bass notes from the stereo at relatively low volumes. Nervous to take it back into the dealership because I know they'd find a way to mess it up more, probably will just live it it

I noticed a potential source under the seat between a wiring harness and the heater duct.

Has a very similar noise coming from the overhead console in my '17 DCSB with no moonroof. After some poking and pushing I figured out that the rattle would go away when applying pressure to the microphone area of the console (the slots between the map lights). I pulled the console down which is very easy, no screws just 4 push in clips and noticed that the microphone piece itself that plugs into the console was loose in the opening and capable of tapping either side. Everything else in the assembly seemed tight. There is roughly 1/16-1/8 of an inch gap around the microphone so I wrapped it with electrical tape I had laying around to create a snug fit in the hole it goes through in the console, I also wrapped the wires in electrical tape since I was already in there. Reinstalled the console and haven't heard the rattle since.

+1 I noticed this noise only when it was cold out and/or from a cold start. It would even go away depending on how long I drove the truck (as it warmed up).

Man my taco has a rattle that's driving me crazy. It seems to be coming from the overhead console but I cannot pin point it. Seems to go away in cold climate.

    Anybody have any suggestions?
    Please help me

It seems like a lot of these rattles are caused by the wiring rattling around in a void space. That was the problem I found for the pass side dash speaker area. Would think that a $40K+ truck wouldn't have these issues.
