Well now that things have settled down, I was able to secure a new vehicle. After considering another Taco and coming thisclose, as well as test driving an F-150 (dodged a bullet there) we decided on a 2016 trail edition 4Runner. This was hard as I have had two Tacomas, but at this point in our lives, a 4Runner just made sense. And with the deal I got, I feel it was a great financial decision. And I have to admit, it is more comfortable on long drives.

Of note for all of us faithful Toyota fans, I purchased my 2016 Tacoma DCSBOR for a shade under $35k 8 months ago and with 5 miles on the odometer. State Farm called and appraised the 8 month old Tacoma with 11k miles on it as a total loss and offered market value...$35.5k! They really do hold their value...

Hard to say goodbye, but our needs have changed. I am sure the Tacoma would have worked for us for a long time, but truth be told I am glad I am back in the trusty, albeit thirsty, 4.0 V6 in the 4Runner. With how the Tacoma kept us safe in the accident, I don't think I will be straying from Toyota anytime soon. Thanks for all the support on this forum, it's been fun learning and sharing here. I'm headed over to the 4Runner forums under the same username. Although who knows, maybe one day we will need a pickup truck in the future...

    Adios!

Good choice. I had a 2014 Trail and it was a fine vehicle, but I'm just a truck guy at heart.

My old lady 4Runner performs and drives much better than my tacoma. Just a bit outdated on the interior. You'll enjoy it I promise you.

Really unsure about the new twin turbo ecoboost. I was almost tempted as they are really comfortable, but had to go with proven and reliable. After my purchase, I really felt that I made the right choice. Only time will tell if those ecoboost aluminums are gonna be great, they very well might be...

The Runner is a good choice.
