Tonneau cover for genuine Toyota Tacoma 2016 P/N 3B135G6H. Can you get this from the dealer? Was not told I was getting an after market one at purchase. They put an Extang solid 2.0 on. It is not working out well lots of water. Can you get top rails off with out breaking them. I know they would have to be cut out for an OEM Tonneau.

So supposedly you cannot get the factory one unless it is already on the truck (i.e. technology package). I am very surprised they tried to slip a solid fold 2.0 on you without knowing. I find that crazy, and there have been A LOT of issues with the 2.0, especially on here.

Yes, you can get the rails off and cut them. I cut mine with a dermel tool and it looks like it came from the dealer. You can pick one up on here or on your local craigslist for typically sub $400 with all the hardware, and sometimes the seller will actually want to trade rails with you, so no cutting is necessary.

Here are two threads, first the solid fold 2.0 issues thread and second the how to remove/cut rails, and install the factory one.

Just start at the cab and pull straight up. Moving towards the tailgate about every 6-10 inches and pulling straight up. The tabs just unclip. No tools needed. Once you start pulling you'll realize it's easy.

Great point - the .com instead of .ca made it less than obvious. While the "proudly Canadian" banner is a strong hint, the page layout leads one's eyes to the tonneau not the top line. :D

If I could get closer to $800 maybe. Already heard some of these have faded and bow in the middle.

I bet shipping would be a bitch and a half though.

Watch the various regional and buy/sell and Tonneau threads here, as well as your own local/regional craigslist. These pop up fairly regularly for reasonable prices gently used, often from someone whose truck came with it but doesn't want it. If you meet up you can even swap rails so you don't have to cut them and the seller gets your Gentile rails. Also swap the header rail-end seals that come on the Tonneau equipped trucks.

I really like the way the MX4 looks but $1,000! Wish I could buy someone's OEM.

Yeah now that you mention it that does look beat up. I have seen several on Ebay in the last 3, 4 months though. Better shape than that.
