after this crazy weekend I was looking for my brake controller pig tail for my new truck. Thinking that my 16 would be like my 15 taco and come with one. Didn't have one in glove box so I called to dealer to see about it. The parts guy had emailed the "warehouse" to see if they had anything because his computer didn't show a listing for it. He called me back and said they were not offering a pig tail for a brake controller. WTF? I said the manual shows it has a plug ready for it. Did anyone get one with there truck? Does anyone know if the plug might work from my 15' Tacoma? Gonna try to instal this weekend.

Yep. A pigtail can be bought for whatever controller you are using. I think the number for a Prodigy pigtail is 3017-P, or 3017-S if you want to make your own pigtail. Just be careful with Amazon ... the one they list for Tacoma is the 3040-P, which is (I think) for 2nd Gen Taco's. Like deergetr said, get the one for a 2015 - 2017 Tundra and you'll be good to go ... plugs in behind the driver's side kick panel, assuming you have the tow package.

Ok good deal. Thanks guys. I'm betting the one I have from my Tacoma is the same. If one from a tundra works.

I'm not sure it will work if its for a 2nd Gen Tacoma. They changed the connector in the Tundra in 2015 and followed in the Tacoma in 2016. The plug used to be more square-shaped but it is now more rectangular. Always worth a try, though. Good luck.
