Screenshot_20210306-185145_Photo Editor.jpg Couple of months ago I found myself out in nowhere and truck would not start after filling up. Engine codes popped up p0171 and p0174 along with other codes. It turned over but would not start. I waited a couple of minutes and tried again. Did this a few times then it slowly tried and finally it got up to running rpm. I shut it off and it started up. So I shut it down again and cleared codes. Everything was fine for a month then it started to act up again. It got gradually worse to the point codes popped up after driving 2 miles. Truck seemed fine but at this point I scheduled appointment with Toyota and it was a week out. Today I figured it out. I am uploading a pic and hope someone can enlighten me what it is. I remember disconnecting connector and putting it on again. I started the engine and started spraying Ether all round the connections and hoses and when I got to that connector I heard a pop or a click and then the engine started to run smooth. I don't know if it was the connection or me spraying but either way I would like to know what that part is so I can have it replaced. My gas mileage was so bad that I was thinking about trading it in . It went from 13 miles to the gallon to 21. And no codes.Screenshot_20210306-185145_Photo Editor.jpg

Thank you for that info. My 2016 has had little issues until now . I stumbled across this fix and thinking I should go ahead and replace it. Truck runs fine for now. Hope this helps out others.

added extra tie downs in bed, the tool-less 32oz cupholder mod, fog lights in process...
exact same thing happened to me except once i got it running again took it to autozone and they said it was the MAF sensor... I took it off and cleaned it but the check engine light came back on a few days later. took it to the dealership and they said the VSV is stuck open. They wanted $268 to replace it but I found online for $67 so am just going to order and swap it out myself. hope it works! my gas mileage has been worse recently as well
