Yes, misspelled title in all caps from a vendor with 14% negative feedback; this is surely a quality product that does exactly what it claims.

    Lol agreed. +35% power is about a 90 HP gain, +25% torque is about a 65 ft-lb gain . Yeah...Dyno proof or it's a bold lie

Put one of those $500 Chinese turbo kits on it and let us know how it goes.

Unfortunately this is the norm here. Site is full of dicks and know-it-alls, and if you go against the grain they come at you in droves. Even those of us who loved or want to love our truck but have significant issues with it get scolded around here. It's like these guys think you're personally attacking them or they own the company! Coming from another forum that I only occasionally followed for a vehicle I used to own, one would get the impression that most people who own Tacomas are a bunch of whiney frat boys and spoiled brats. I'm sure thats not true, but thats the vibe they give off around here and tons of dick measuring. You just have to weed through it to get to the good and important stuff. Every once in a while you'll come across some great advice and something that helps you out.

Remember the qualifier they use "up to". Meaning if there's any gain anywhere, which is still unlikely, it's technically working as advertised.

Don't worry about it. Some people like to type out essays as to why they are assholes instead of just being helpful in the first place.

To answer your question, like others mentioned the ECU is locked up pretty tight and AFAIK there haven't been any aftermarket tuning companies announcing chips yet, but perhaps in the future.

If anyone can do it these guys can

    giacusa.com

They worked my VWs on the dyno programed them while the wheels were spinning! Someone can e-mail them if you're interested. It's not that the chips are scrambled its more the language the code is written in. It's one of the machine languages which can look like zeros and ones with a few letters.

In the meantime, hit the ECT Power mode button on your dash/center console by the cigarette lighter... It basically changes the shift patterns and let's you rev out way more... Almost too much in my opinion. It's for towing trailers but it also makes the truck haul ass instead of sip gas. My girlfriend calls it race mode lol.

ECT seems to do something to the throttle response as well.... off the line it takes far less of a nudge on the gas to goose it into action. I guess it could be that with it off the thing isn't starting out in 1st gear? Anyway, ECT works pretty well

The word troll is getting pretty annoying. I'm new as well and it seems to be an obsession around here. Wish there was a tuner but as new as the engine is amd it being a Toyota it might be some time before something comes out. Would be nice if APR started something for this motor :burnrubber:

This here is the answer for the temporary. Someone just needs to figure out how to make the damn thing an on/off toggle instead of an "on until you turn off the truck" button.

Sorry but that is only happening in third gen section, and I suspect this is happening because there are Toyota employees on this forum simply trolling and acting up.

That's unfortunate. Maybe the trolls will get bored and buy a Hyundai or something. The Chevy Colorado is drawing in some of the "Bro" demographic.

so if i buy two of them then I pretty much get exponentially more HP TQ right??? lol

On a more serious note, what is everyone's interest in a blower kit? Magnuson just ended their contract with TRD so, they now sell kits 05-15 for the Tacoma. I know it will probably be pretty far off for the 3rd gen, unless they have some agreement with Toyota for the tunes. Personally a supercharger with this whole dual injection atkinson cycle sounds pretty complicated and my buddy says that it would probably be a pretty low boost anyway because of the engines factory high compression ratio.
