    seems like there is a big difference reported on here... in one place I see 52 ft lbs in another place I see 110 ft lbs...
    does anyone know for certain?

    That is interesting, I had not noticed that before, most likely a leftover from the 2015 manual or an oversight, interestingly on the same page the 2WD specification is the updated 52 ft-lbs.

    As for where it states 52 ft-lbs:
    2016 Tacoma Repair Manual (RM26L0U) > Suspension > SUSPENSION > REAR LEAF SPRING > COMPONENTS
    and
    2016 Tacoma Repair Manual (RM26L0U) > Suspension > SUSPENSION > REAR LEAF SPRING > INSTALLATION > 3. INSTALL REAR SPRING U BOLT > Torque: 70 N·m {714 kgf·cm, 52ft·lbf}

    Interesting side note: technical instructions for the leaf spring recall have been released (2005-2011 Tacomas) and they still specify 37 ft-lbs for the updated parts.

    I think its 52ft-#s but verify. 110 ft-lbs seems pretty high for a u-bolt. Get that high you'd probably have to cut them/punch them out to get the old one off after a few years....

    Roger that. will ping one of my ships engineers... one is an amazing mechanic that has worked on toy trucks for 30 years... will pass on what he says just as a data point.
