2016 Tacoma VLED Brake Lights & Turn Signals! (Picture's & Video's)

The only thing I have to order is 3 led lights for the cab lights and the whole truck will be leds except for the Morimoto hids!!!

 

So to confirm - the rear brake lights and rear directions are all red and the front directionals are amber?

 

Correct, rear are all red, all 4 bulbs. And the front turn signals are White/Amber Switchbacks!

 

Corey... Are they a simple swap? Just plug & play ? Or do you have to modify and mount the resistors inside the lens assembly?

Nope simple swap, all plug and play!!!! The resistors just get 3m taped behind the light housing on the bed!!!

What adapter harness is provided to enable the front switchback function? I got some ACME bulbs from TRS that are really bright and work well, but they only work for the turn signal function.

 

The switchback kit comes with everything you need, and you need the 6 ohm resistor to prevent hyper flashing!

 

Ok, so 4 bulbs for the rear, which covers running/brake/turn-signals, all red. For the front, though, can you just use amber V3s instead of the switchbacks? Are all these bulbs 7443?

 

Ya they are the standard 7443 and you can just use amber and amber instead of amber and white if you'd like! You don't want the 7443 ck base just the standard 7443!!!!!

 

Maybe I'm misunderstanding and need to go outside and see how the lights behave, but I thought the turn signal bulb only comes on when the blinker is activated? If it comes on with the LED DRLs then I missed it, crap.

Ok, so I verified that that front amber bulbs don't come on unless my blinkers are on, as I originally thought. So, by replacing these with switchbacks you're using them as DRLs, I get that. I just want to replace the bulbs, which is why I'm thinking just straight up amber ones will do, see what I mean?

Also, did you replace the small amber bulbs on the sides of the headlights? I think those aren't LED either.

 

I did not change the small amber bulbs on the sides of the headlights, idk how you get to those lol! And those leds you had on the retro fit source will work for your purpose fr $35!!!

 

The stock reverse lights are pretty dim. What led reverse lights did you use? And are they much brighter than stock?

 

Ya way brighter I put in leds! I got these and they are crazy bright!!!

They're only 106 lumen, though, so won't be super bright, but should be brighter than stock. I'll let you know how they look.
