    Yes sir
Why the frame wasn't number 1 on their list of problems is beyond me... who cares about the sound of the door closing when your frame is rotting away from salt and moisture...

No no no, from what I understand about the new gen is that the frame is the same as the 2nd gen frame. Therefor we can conclude that the same problems will occur.

Pickuptrucks.com takes a lot of flack as supposed Ford ass kissers, and probably for good reason. But I think they're as unbiased as anything out there.

But it isn't hard to test, it's the same frame. They haven't changed anything on it sooooooo?

I wouldn't say it's a negative review. They do "Things we liked" too. I think any decent automotive news source has to mention the negatives too. Their overall review was pretty positive.

That's what I read first and I thought they did a pretty fair review.

I read an article that stated Toyota improved the frame and coated it with a corrosion preventive coating.

"tinny" sounding door? That would be an unbelievable thing from Toyota trucks. I haven't heard a "tinny" sound for 25 years.

I thought that was a strange comment as well. My '13 Tacoma was so tight that I had to pull the door hard when getting in. It never sounded tinny at all.

My 2010 access cab sounded tinny until I put sound deadening material in it.

I think there will be more bad reviews coming up for this Gen2.5. No way I call in a gen 3

I am seeing a lot of negative press on the '16....and long time die hard Toyota fans on other forums...feel generally underwhelmed, wonder if the '16 is going to a flop?

I don't think the 2016 will be a flop. There does seem to be a balance of positive and negative opinions on the various TacomaWorld threads. If the 2016s sits on dealer lots slightly longer than expected, that could be a buyer's opportunity.

Most of the positive I've read is on these forums. Other forums like Toyota nation which is huge and tundra talk have been mostly negative

There are so many better things to not like. They must not have done any research on this truck.

They will sell a lot of these trucks. Over the lifetime of the 2nd gen it has transitioned from being a work truck with off road ability to an off road truck that has a work truck variant. The 3rd gen abandons the facade of a work truck entirely. It's being marketed as a rough and tumble off roadin' truck, look at how they set up that media event compared to the GM twins launch.

Now that the interior is pretty nice, the ride is greatly improved, and the fuel economy hit the magic 20, it can tap into the crossover market to make up for the alienated bitter tacoma vets that want their 5 lugs back. Plus it can do something that crossovers can't, tow a reasonable amount. Within a few months people will get them, add mods, and there will be pictures and you'll see em on the road and it will be a hot ticket item, just like the 2nd gen.

I'm not sure how you can like the 2nd gen (6 lug) and dislike the 3rd gen. It's the same truck with a bunch of improvements.

We all know it will sell decent numbers. But this 2.5 update feels to me like what Toyota would have done if the GM twins never existed. An update with little competition. But I was expecting something all-new and bold from Toyota now that it has a real competitor out there...and who knows if a Ranger and a good Frontier are coming down the near future???
