I think I'd do the same - ACLB instead of DCSB. I wouldn't have to sleep catty-corner in the back, and I wouldn't have to worry about people wanting to ride in my truck with me. I wasn't too sure about the tech package when I bought the truck, but the BSM has been incredibly helpful after putting a shell on the bed (low visibility).

I agree back up camera, BSM, back up sensors, seat warmers all are nice additions to the Tacoma. I'm glad I have them now. I could live without the sunroof though, I'd rather have an extra inch or two head space.

I love my ACLB, for a lot of those reasons. Plus, no one rides with me and if they do, they can just be scrunched up on jump seats. Lol. I really love my taco, and the long bed is so useful. I didn't want the tech package, not worth it to me, but did want a moonroof. Maybe now I'm glad I couldnt get one as I'm probably gonna mount some stuff to the roof over the seats and a moonroof would interfere. Even with some minor issues, I would definitely buy again, I got what I wanted, color included, and a good price I am happy with!

I agree with all of this. Good post. But the last statement has me thinking. The 2nd gen ran forever. How was there not enough time to release the 3rd gen that they wanted (if that was indeed the case)? I feel like they had more than enough time to test and release whatever they needed for the next truck. Just my opinion though.

    No.
may change my mind later but not now.
After the last week fighting them over a quote about 3000 for faltered parts and repairs after several recalls and tsb problems.
Many life long toyota owners I know have the same thoughts.

Would I purchase another 2016 Tacoma? No. I would however purchase a 2017.

Lift shield? Isnt that through Pro Comp so when your rear diff goes and Toyota denys your claim stating lift aiding to failure, they will replace your diff? Huh, seems unlikely getting Pro Comp to buy you a new diff but who knows.

DesertTaco: Wow, perfect. Let's not forget some people have trucks with such bad vibration they are limited to how long they can drive (like a hour). And. Toyota says it's okay.(ref. Doobiewah among others)

I think that pretty well explains why it can make sense to buy a Tacoma if one needs to buy a new truck. Despite all the problems turning up, the experience with other trucks is unlikely to be significantly better.

The 2016 Tacoma looks good, but anyone who has a truck that is meeting their needs should hold on to their money for now.

Go to the procomp website and check out lift shield, it covers all that stuff motor, trans and diffs. It's a pretty good deal.

Reasoning behind waiting for a 2017? Do you think every bug has been worked out in just a year?

So youre admitting the 3rd gen has some serious issues to consider? Noted.
