Anybody already making plans to buy one? I know I am, hopefully by 2026 I'll have the money!

They're not going to add a new section to the forum when they know nothing about the truck. We do not know for sure it will be a 3rd gen just because one rep said it will have a new body design.

We absolutely know that the truck pictured is indeed the 3rd gen Tacoma.

I was just being a smart ass about the 3rd gen forum.

it's a prototype, I guarantee it won't have that tail or tailgate design when released.

    guaranteed

Seems doubtful that they would release a teaser photo that shows very little of the truck, and then not end up using the features that were shown.

My bet is that the actual production truck will look almost exactly like that.

Toyota themselves called it the "all new 2016". This is legit.

We do not absolutely know anything actually. That could be a 2nd gen with a new bumper and tailgate, the fender flare and tha tail light are shaped the same as 2nd gen.

    Fact #1

This is from Toyota's official Instagram account.

    Fact #2

In the post, Toyota called this "all new 2016"

This is the 3rd gen that we've all been waiting for. No doubt about it.

They posted the picture to build excitement, so let's get excited.

The last time they released a new Tacoma in 2005, it annihilated the competition. I expect nothing less this time around.

It definitely has more than enough power right now, but this is America, where more is always better.

First,, let it be known I like the Tacoma, a great truck for what it is!! but with all the talk about weak springs, I think Toyota designed the truck for what it is, & that is a great "grocery getter" or (for the DC's) taking the kids to school, much more & the Tacoma falls a little short, try pulling a trailer, with a decent load & you will find out quickly how underpowered this truck is, as I said, I really like the Tacoma, a good rider, GREAT looking, a "beefed" up engine would put it over the top!!!!, I mean over the top!!, as is a great truck for cleaning up the yard waste, trips to the store, but put a load on & it is not quite up to it, jmop

Around the yard a great truck
    [IMG]

But with a load it falls short!!

Do you have the 4 liter?

I used to pull a 4,000 pound camper around all the time. Handled it really well.

That's why is is called a mid-sized truck. the lighter end of light duty, install a washer and dryer, yard waste, load of mulch.....couple dirtbikes.

You want a work truck for continual 750lb loads or more you want full sized truck Tundra or Ferd F150 or more.

Think about what a Tacoma is...it is a 4runner with a more usable rear cargo area. or in reality, a 4runner is a tacoma with a roof
