Agreed, the OR contrast looks great.

Karl Malone. Said no change on my order, still 3-4 weeks for delivery, but who knows for sure, he wasn't expecting this one for a couple more weeks.

No problem. I'll let you know if I hear anything new. Maybe mine will just magically show up soon.

It's like they gave the front end a cleft chin.

I like how the none government crash ratings are not rated except the rollover one. What a waste of window sticker space.

The dealer at Karl Malone (i have had a pre order there for a month now) Said the Silver one would be in on 9-11 and that it had no owner yet if i wanted to buy it and not wait for my build. which now has a build date of Oct 13th. I don't think they know what is going on there.

Beaverton Toyota near Portland, Oregon is listing their 2016 allocation on their web site. 23 say "arriving soon", "in production" or "in transit". Scroll to the bottom of the link for the 2016s.

    http://www.beavertontoyota.com/new/tacoma.htm

Funny thing is one 2016 says it is a PreRunner. I guess you can't believe everything you read on the internet.

I'm still debating whether dealerships are clueless, or just being hush hush so they can push what's already on the lot. I have a hard time believing they have no clue or info about a vehicle that's hitting lots, and will likely be a big seller.

When did they tell you about the silver one?

They told me last night. It's a silver sport double cab short bed with the JBL upgrade. I didn't want silver.

Okay. I was curious if you knew it was coming earlier. Sales manager told me last night when it arrived that he wasn't expecting anything for two more weeks. Trying to decipher how much they actually know.

I wouldn't either. There's too many other good colors out there to settle on silver.

I was talking to the inventory manager. They are getting better info now with actual build dates. But they really have been in the dark until a couple days ago.

It's deff both! My experiance shopping for a new Tacoma just a coupe years ago was that dealers and salesman didnt know hardly anything about Tacomas at all, even at the biggest dealers. Also, most would flat out lie to trick you into buying something on the lot (5 out of 6 dealers I contacted). It was very frustrating to me.

Better off doing the research on packages and options yourself, and going to dealers knowing exactly what you want, and don't except anything less. Call them out on their B.S. and don't play their games!

Yup.... If I get a Sport it will be in silver. If it is the Off-road, then I think it will be the MGM.

Despite not being externally marketed as such any more (since it's the only 2WD that exists), internally it is actually still referred to as a Pre-Runner in a few places, so it's not super surprising.

I have known more than the salesman on the last four vehicle purchases. We live in the internet age, salesman are only there to haggle price, that's why the lobbies in various states push to keep laws against direct purchases on the books.

They haven't tried to offer me anything else, I made clear that I won't take delivery if its missing something I ordered, or if they added anything I didn't. He only called me on the one yesterday so I could see one in person....wasn't invited to the press junket.
