2016 tailgate easy-down hinge broken. I need some help confirming which parts I need to replace.

Hi all,

I have a 2016 TRD Sport from the first half of the year production run. The right side of the tailgate has the easy-down hinge and it was swapped for a newer (stronger?) version about half way through the production run. Mine is the original style. The mechanism still works but the plastic piece that goes around the hinge broke. I replaced it with the TW member's 3D printed part and it lasted for a few months, but ultimately failed. I'm tired of dealing with it and my dealership wants $300 in labor + parts to fix it.

I am handy with tools so I'll do the work myself, I'm just not that great at finding the diagrams that I need... If anyone can help me out that would be great!

Less than 36000 miles, it should be covered under bumper to bumper.....otherwise....good luck on replacement process. I use Olathe Toyota a lot for parts on my old 2007 Tundra and my grandson's 2004 Tundra.
