Does anyone know what size bolt goes on the passenger front side tonneau cover (Oem) for 2016 model. I know the socket is 12 mm but what size is the bolt dimension ?

Did you ever receive a response? My torque wrench didn't operate properly and my bolt snapped, now I need a new one.

I never received a response. I went to Lowes. I don't remember the size as I grabbed a few metric ones and the first one worked. I'm on a business trip and won't be home until this weekend, but if you would like I can pull it out and spec it out for you then.

[IMG] [IMG] Flange diameter: 25 mm
    Diameter: 8 mm
    Pitch: 1.25 mm
    Threaded length: 30 mm
    Body length: ~22.5 mm
    Length: 52.5 mm
Hex wrench: 12 mm (15/32 works just as well)

Awkwardly, the last 5 mm of the bolt (at the “free” end, i.e. opposing the head) seem to be M6 (diameter: 6 mm, pitch 1.25 mm). When fully screwed in, the M6 tip is way out of the nut bolted to the truck bed (see photo). My guess is they chose a smaller diameter for the tip to self-guide the bolt if the hole in the tonneau cover is not perfectly aligned with the nut.

I lost mine and thought it wouldn’t be a big deal to get a replacement online. I tried to find the bolt online (or, at least, its’ specs), but I simply couldn’t. It is incredible how hard is to find this piece of information on the web. This is how I find this post. I was lucky though and found my missing bolt in my garage.

I am posting here my measurements and a few pictures for the unfortunate souls that misplace their bolt too.

If somebody is aware of a reasonably priced source for a perfect match, please share it with us. If not, I would guess that any rust resistant ~50 mm long M8 hex head partially threaded (~30 mm) with a generous flange head (or washer) would do the job.

Amazing info. I don't want to even tell you how much Toyota wanted for a replacement bolt. The dealer ordered it anyway because he wants to see what is included in the price.

Looks to be part # 64935-04010, my dealer had for.... wait for it.... $118.

    Thanks for the part #!

Hmm, I could trade my 2016 Tacoma on a bag of 300 of those. Or not :)

I was able to confirm that the $118 is for the bolt only, and that is the correct part number. Highway robbery. The lowest price online is still in the high $50's.
