Way to be an asshat. Everyone knows that keeping the heat down is better for your drivetrain which will only help extend the life of your drivetrain even further. Also 1st and 2nd gens used a different drivetrain than the current one. Thanks for the rude comment though bud.

If he doesn't want the upgraded alternator, engine oil cooler, transmission cooler, power steering cooler, trailer hitch and 4/7 pin connectors and anti sway control. As well as a Truck thats easier to sell with the package along with a higher resale value. Then thats his choice.

He wasn't expressing a choice as near as I could tell - he was having a drama queen moment in response to someone pointing out they found value in those things. I thought for a second that my wife had joined the forum under an assumed name to f**k with me.

And completely off-topic. What does your ranting add to answering the question?

Having 4x4 and having a tow package are both important factors of a truck that add value. Both will increase resale. Both are worth the investment if you ever will sell your truck. Lots of people upgrade to the newest gen when it comes out, or at 100k miles, etc. In all of those cases, having a hitch will help resale.

Almost every truck sold in the Southeast has the package, SETF adds them to everything.

Your sticker that was on the window will include the option.

Finally, you can also look under the hood. On trucks with the trans cooler, I think it's the small radiator in front of the main radiator, just under the horn.

The tow package is deffinately worth the price. I tow 1-3 times per year on average but I would not buy a truck without the tow package if it is offered.

The upgraded equipment improved the truck and it's resale even if you never pull a trailer.

For 2018 Toyota is making the tow package standard on V6 models. They way it should be.

You are right. I forgot to mention that.

My brain says truck = heavy duty (least in comparison to passenger cars) and sh0uld be ready to tow, haul, crawl, and provide a good deal of utility. Those that do not do so are what I would refer to as a "poser" meaning it has the look but lacks strength and abilty to perform as it should.

While I do not take my truck on off road adventures, I do appreciate that is does have capabilities to do so beyond most passenger vehicles.

My last 2nd gen did not have the tow package and i made sure my current truck had it, for $650 it was a no brainer to me.
