This may be the same kind of question as the ping and misfire. If I load a 91 tune and get bad gas from one of the stations I fill up at. The engine should still be fine right? Just going to get reduced mileage for a while?

Here is a log file from my drive into work this morning. Ambient temp was around 28 degrees F. There seems to be a lot of misfires between coolant temp of 37 - 123 degrees F, especially when I was at 71.6 degrees F. After that, it seemed to calm down, but still had a handful in the 157+ F range. I am currently on 1.05 87 w/ 87 octane in the tank. Is this concerning enough to warrant going back to stock and re-evaluating? I know the engine is most unstable during cold start-up, but seems like a lot of misfiring going on. Thanks.

I don't think flashing back to stock is necessary. look at misfires for each cylinder, mainly cylinder 1 and only at one spot while still warming up.

Thanks, Mat. Does anyone know what an acceptable amount of misfires is? Does any vehicle have misfires upon a cold start, and is it considered normal to have any amount of misfires once up to temp? Mainly just wondering if I need to take this truck in for warranty work to remedy this, if needed.

Has there been any new info on the handheld release date for the people who did the pre order? I was away for a while and last I heard it was going to be by the end of the month.

Has anyone else experienced 6th to 3rd down shifts at approx 60mph? When going up a grade if I slowly press the accelerator (as to not cause a downshift to 5th or 4th) - when the throttle is almost to 100% but still at about 2250 RPM it will downshift to 3rd at about 5500rpm.

But if I give a sharp throttle "stab" it will smoothly downshift to 5th and then to 4th.

Mat said they are waiting on an update from Alienware, the handheld unit manufacturer. He said as soon as OVT receives the update, the units will be mailed out.

I never had as many misfires as you did, but I had much more than stock so I flashed back to stock. Today i did 4 trips, mostly city driving of a bout 80 miles total. I did a log at the end of each drive to see the total accumulative misfire count (what you see on the realtime misfire count reset every 1000 revolutions so it isn't a good gauge of the total) and for the entire sub-freezing day today I had a total of 2 misfires. The dramatic increase in misfires and pinging was my primary reason for going back to stock... but I'm really glad Mat is taking some time away to work on that piece.

I totally missed the handheld unit posts and had to go back and read a little on it. Pretty neat! Just to clarify, all new users will now be issued a handheld unit with the ECU/TCU package? This is the package listed for $770 on the website.

This is becoming something similar the Cobb Access Port! Ofcourse in the early stages but I like where it's going. The Access Port was freaking EASY to use. Hopefully down the road Matt can integrate the ability to data log straight from the handheld unit along with add all the cool stuff like code reading, clearing codes, and so on. Excited to see where this goes!

Negative, the handhelds are sold as an option/add on for the tune. The standard tune will be the usb cable and Tactrix OBD connector + tune license/software that is tied to your windows Laptop or Mac using Bootcamp for tuning via system ID #

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Or you can get the handheld with the tunes already programmed once he lists them again. No computer needed.
