Im only referring to clearing DTCs for Engine and Transmission on Tech stream not Flash manager.

In a word. No. You must use techstream to clear learned values. Disconnecting the battery or clearing DTC will not do it.

Well that blows. Are you guys saying that the tune's true potential cannot be unlocked without clearing from Techstream? @OVTune
Is there an easy way for a guy running Bootcamp to get a version of TS?

I may be wrong, but I would think that the ECU would immediately begin adjusting short and long term trims to the new tune as you drove the truck. Clearing with TS would bring you back to baseline, but within 100 miles or so, the end result would be the same. ....... I think.

Not necessarily. It's just a precaution to be 100% certain the learning values are baselined.

It is not a requirement but it will let the ECU start with fresh long and short term fuel trims and knock learn values. You should have no issues installing TS in Bootcamp on the same machine you are using for tuning.

I would agree with you but if you're going from a 93 to a 87 octane tune you might want to clear learned values sooner than later.

So disconnecting the battery after a flash does absolutely nothing?

I haven’t been keeping up with the process for this. Is there a pdf or something for a pirated version? Process/how to?

But what if you go from a 93 tune to an 87 tune... but continue to run a tank or two of 93 octane????
