Mat posts blogs on his site with what all he has done in an update and future development. Also under flash manager tab is a list of the currently available tunes and what trucks they are applicable to.

Few questions here, most probably answered before but.....I live in Utah, a higher elevation state so they only sell 85,88 and 91octane at 99% of the gas stations here. Will that affect my tune at all, being its for 87/93? Also, I plan on probably using an older MacBook Pro with bootcamp on it to flash, will that cause any issues? I know it said not to use a VM but I couldn't find anything on Matt's site about using bootcamp.

And my last question..I have a ShiftSensePro , do people still run that even after the tune? I'm debating if I should sell it to help cover the cost of the tune.

What octane do you normally use? Try to stick as close to the octane you use as possible. Ideally use the same octane gas or higher
Not sure about bootcamp, idk if it has to do with registry keys or something else...
For ssp, can you disable/able it to try it with and without? Maybe try it with/without and see if it's still worth it for you to keep both.. for me I just did the tune and it fit everything I wanted.

It’s a must for me still, the tune doesn’t replace it, it still gets into 5th at 35 or so without SSP

I thought that was a huge selling point of this tune that it doesn't upshift to ridiculously high gears at a craw? 5th at 35 MPH is stupid... What tune version are you on?

Wow that sucks... glad I haven't pulled the trigger yet. Maybe 2.0 will do something about it?

    Likely 4th at 35mph, not 5th.

And as we have previously said the stock TCU table logic upshifts the truck anywhere from 0% to 5% throttle. So if you aren't on it, it upshifts if possible, or if you're barely on it.
It's being completely rewritten in 2.0. But yes, if you are putting the weight of a hair on the gas, it upshifts, or even if you let off.

The only way around that with the stock logic is force a shift point @ 0% throttle. Because we cannot disable 0% throttle shift point because of the ECUs interpolation.

It's stupid so 2.0 just rewrites the entirety of it.

    Edit @ Accelerator not throttle.

I sure hope so. I remember OV saying that he knew why it shifted up so fast, something about upshifting with zero throttle, but didn’t say if he was going to work on it.

Yes he is working on it.
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/...velopment-info-enhancing-efficiency-x2?page=2

    Excerpt:
    "Drive Mode Shifting :
Creating 2 new tables that modify D mode shift limits.
Our new tables take the current shift limit status and throw them through our own shifting algorithm so that the transmission no longer races up in gears at low RPM, or up-shift when you are off-throttle and cause a "clunk" from going too low of RPM and having to recover.
    "

I'd read the whole thing. It's quite exciting everything he's doing in 2.0.

I think you got that part backwards. I would never use a lower octane fuel with a tune that specifies a higher octane. That sounds like a recipe for early detonation. It hasn't caused you any problems and I'm not telling you what to do, but recommending it to others is reckless.

It absolutely gets up into 5th gear by 35mph. It will shift up to 5th as low as 31-32mph too. That was when I ran 1.05.1 or 1.05, 91 octane performance gear lock, or 91 base. You can verify this at any time by moving the shifter from D to S when you think its in 5th gear. If it is in 5th gear, it will immediately downshift to 4th since S mode defaults to 4th gear. Either just use the SSP with the tune, or use S4 to lock out of 5th/6th gears, or use the performance gear lock tune and shift it yourself.

Hey guys, I've searched but can't find an exact answer. Has anyone used a Surface Go to install OVTune? I'm going to need a laptop and the tablet is getting a bit old, so if I can kill two birds with one stone that'd be great.
