Are you on the 04B04 ECU? Also, I know this may sound dumb, but you are not using ECT, are you? The 2.0 files to date have the ECT button activating gear lock, which is why I ask.

My mileage has taken a significant hit in the past two weeks. Between the cold air and winter fuel, I’ve lost about 2mpg, FWIW.

Last tank for me was at 15.6mpg on 2.0 mixed driving. The tank before that was 13.6mpg on 1.05, talk about shitty gas mileage!

    18-20 last week.
    15-17 this week.

two things: temps dropped from 90 to 40.
tire pressures reduced from 28F/25R to 25F/18R cold. i think this is the main reason.

no change to the tune. 04B13 93 MT, 2.0 first dump tube beta

Hey @OVTune , I've been out of the loop for a while, how's the time line coming along for the protocol and instructions for the HH? I plugged it in and it read the ECU software but that's about it, don't know what happens next.

That’s exactly what it was made to do? Most people want it to hold gears so that’s what mat made it do

On the highway I have been seeing 18.6, mixed driving comes to 15.6mpg as per the last tank calculated after filling up and dividing the odometer reading by the gallons filled.

Good old corn gas. I'd usually see around 19s on the highway but when I drove back home to Wisconsin I'd have times when I'd average 15 mpg. Is what it is. :notsure:

sortof stock. 6112/5160, pro wheels and a tune.
i’m 04b04. no ect. driving home it’s seemed better. ill keep an eye on it. also- noticed that it’s not dropping from 6th to 4th, it’s dropping to 5th i’m pretty positive now. i started really watching it and going 70mph, it was going from 1700-1800 rpm to 2000ish. dropping to 4th it was around 2500 from what i could tell. i think the cold weather and winter gas is just messing with it some.

@OVTune hows the new MT Pro tacoma acquired treating you? Are you noticing the peculiar differences of the manual transmission? Had a chance to run it through the dyno or the butt dyno feedback been sufficient? Hope it’s helping you figure our Tacoma’s. What color did you get? Photo opp time !!

I drive the same mountains and have the same issue. Every once in a while I get lucky and it downshifts to 4th bit most of the time it goes to 3rd. I’ve had to start throwing it overto S mode to get it to shift. Kind of a bummer

Hey guys. I am quite sure this has been answered. But in regards to 2.0 beta. The website says 04b04 with latest tsb. I thought the latest tsb for the 16-17 was 04B04?

Lol. It was a typo when I asked the question. Isn’t 04B04 THE tsb for the 16-17 or has an updated version of 04B04 come out?

At that point it would be 04B05. But no, there isn’t any TSB beyond that for 16-17
