For those of us with the handheld getting the error code. Will we get an email when the new update is available or do we check back here? And what’s he handheld software needed to be downloaded on the PC prior in order to update it when the time comes?

The Tundra update sounds pretty amazing. It also sounds like Toyota designed in similar shortcomings on that platform.

It’s still not up. I respect the shit out of Mat for what he does, I know that even with my last tuning experience on HP Tuners and EFI Live about a decade ago, I could never do what he does. Why he still gives any kind of release dates though.....totally beyond me.

Thanks for taking the time to write all of the info in your Tacoma blog. It was a lot to digest, but very informative.

You mentioned complaint mode... Although being a typo was still quite humorous yet suiting :) Unsure if any intent was there for the typo but it’s fits quite nicely as I follow this thread daily!

So how is everyone interpreting turning gear lock on and off.

I am not seeing anything that lets me turn gear lock on and off without reflash. This wasnt promised, but I was GUESSING it might end up an option with map switching capability.

(As in, not directly seeing a way to go from 'normal S mode that locks out high gears' to 'gear lock S mode that locks in a gear' without reflash).

And no, I am not whining, just trying to understand latest development.

@OVTune , looking at the different maps, what would happen if we are in S mode but don't/forget turn on ECT? I'm sure I will do this as I'm so used to switching to S mode from D. Would that be like a Map 1 gearlock? Not clear to me. And Thank You! :hattip:

    Custom EROM Calibration Features -

AT 3 Wap Map switching -
The Automatic Transmission trucks will have 3 way map switching available through these modes:
    Map 1 - Normal / D mode (87/91/93 compliant)
Map 2 - ECT Button activated ( 87/91/93 compliant performance mode)
Map 3 - ECT Button + S mode ( 87/91/93 complaint mode dedicated for towing)

Nice work! - just double-checking that 87/91/93 compliant means the tune will adjust depending on the fuel used? No more 91 tune/87 tune/93 specific tunes right?

    "S mode Gear Locking -
Gear locking feature will now be controlled by moving the selector to S Mode, and no longer require the use of the ECT button."
