Thanks RyanDCLB. I new I was going to need to do that at some point, just not that soon. Working good now.

Now I am not sure 1.3.0 is the latest version. I am finding different versions.

Ya, 1.3.0 sounds like the latest version.

See instructions in the 2nd half of my post here. GL!

The link to the latest tunes is here: https://www.ovtuned.com/pages/2-0-public

When you Identify your ECU version (electronic control unit, instructions in the video) you'll want to download the tune for your specific ECU. You can download them into the "C"drive > Users folder > (your User name) > Toyota Flash Manager > tunes > 1.05 folder (or maybe 1.3.0 folder in your case).

What I noticed yesterday... if I’m going over 60mph, my truck will not down shift from 5th to 4th. Under 60mph everything works perfectly.

I have to go through the AV gauntlet every time. But disabling and adding orange virus to the ok list isnt enough, I actually have to go into the task manager and force stop anything related to the AV even if its "disabled". And for whatever reason every time my computer restarts if i want to use orange virus I have to purge all data, reinstall everything and redownload the tune to its proper location. If i dont do ALL of that, exactly the same way every time when i go to open the flash utility nothing happens. It's a pain in the ass, but once I got the routine down it the technique works consistently every time.

wow! The ONLY thing I ever had to do was to add an exception to Windows Defender upon initial install and that was in 2017 when I loaded the first tune he released. Following that, I've loaded every single tune/update he's released and never had to change a single setting.

I'm "and keep this a secret on an online public message board" using my companies laptop. And it has MASSIVE amounts of BS nanny crap installed to prevent certain types of sneaky assholes from installing programs to tune their trucks.....

It was more intended as a "stop complaining, look what I have to do every time" tale than an instruction manual for others having issues lol. But that said, I'm a betting man and bet that if people having said issues DID what I have to do every time.... it would work too.

I did all those things on the same day I got my grand pappy legacy 1.05 tune many moons ago, now on 19800 2.0. It seems it's not just the AV that's doing it. JCI seems to have other tyrannical authoritarian software installed that works hand in hand with my AV to effectively destroy all fun and joy to be had. Luckily for me, I'm smarter than they are and find ways to use it anyway.

Did you get a resolution for this?? My truck still has it too. I'm just curious if we are in the majority or there's just a couple of us

I have the same problem on 4B04 19800, standard gears (both 87 and 91), except above 70mph. Related problem (which @OVTune already knows about) is weird momentary shift from 3rd to 4th immediately back to 3rd at 30-50% throttle, especially when going mildly uphill. IIRC @OVTune said both of these things should be fixed by only having the softer tip-in throttle map apply to 1st gear, rather than all gears.

I have a 2018. Should I stick with 04A60 or update to 04A61? As far as DIY updating, I think I found what I need by searching.

No downside to updating, and you can take advantage of the 2.0 beta tune.
